“Location is Best!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

This is a tired old place; rooms need updating but not too bad. Everything is clean, and big TV good. They advertise free internet which is ok on the laptop but not working on my iPad (maybe it's just me that can't figure it out).
This place is exactly across the street from the Niagara State Park which is where you go to see the Falls, ride the Maid of the Mist, etc. Free parking! We arrived several hours before checkin time and were told to go ahead and park and do whatever. They did get our room ready ahead of scheduled checkin time. Very nice desk staff!
They have smoking and non-smoking floors. No swimming pool. Free breakfast from 7-10am. Got 2 free toothbrushes from desk when I asked. Got good recommendations for dining, all within easy walking distance. The Seneca Niagara big casino is an easy 3 block walk along with being 2 blocks from Conference Center.

Several souvenir shops next to and across the street have items much less expensive than in the main Falls Visitor Center/souvenir shop. For example, post cards for 35 cents instead of 79cents; magnets for $2 instead of $4.

This downtown area is practically empty, many vacant buildings. The broad main street is partially pedestrian only. We walked a lot in day and early evening and felt quite safe. We saw no homeless people.

The motel is reasonably priced (booked online with AAA discount (or USAA discount) for rates better than posted. it's about 50% cheaper than staying on the "better" Canadian side.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for smoking or nonsmoking room. Some floors have ice/vending machines and some don't. Book...

This is an excellent choice for a hotel on the American side. You are right across the street from the Maid of the Mist and various viewpoints of the falls. The desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms and common areas were clean and in good repair. Rooms were quiet from each other with a bit of noise from the street, but not bad. We paid the premium price for a high floor room (top, 6th floor), and had one room toward the river and one room facing away. Except for having views of the city, that was nothing special as you can't see the actual falls from any hotels on the American side. Breakfast was at the high end for this chain, including scrambled eggs and sausage as well as the usual waffles and other fare.

Room Tip: The extra money for a high floor room is not particularly valuable. You get a nice view of the city...

I love the location of this hotel. Just an easy walk to the falls and all the attractions. But thats the only nice thing I can say. The beds were so wore down that they felt like they would break if you rolled over. There were cobwebs everywhere. The desk clerks could care less if you stayed there or not. They couldnt even poiny us toward the falls when we arrived. The towels and bedding were worn. No pool.Breakfast ran out of eggs and yogurt and was very very small area.We did not have a view of the falls. But we could park the car and easily walk everywhere!

Room Tip: This hotel has no pool. So if you have children you may be disappointed.

Good Location adjacent to the park so very convenient to the visitor's center, the American Maid of the Mist, Goat Island and Luna Island. The hotel itself is okay but don't expect a view of the falls even from a fifth or sixth floor room. The upper rooms on the falls side does give you a chance to see the fireworks from the Canadian side. The rooms were clean. The buffet breakfast is in the basement and the elevators were slow. The breakfast staff was not friendly or helpful. Overall the location and the relaxed pace on the American side made this an okay place to stay after a hectic day in Canada.

I stayed with family (2 adults and 2 children) in 2nd week of June for 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel is closest to the entrance gate of the Niagra state park. Its just few minutes walk from the hotel to the American side of the falls. We reached the hotel around 12 noon but they did not give the rooms saying that the checkin time is 3 PM. We left our luggage and came back at 2 PM but the room was still not ready despite a request. We again went out and came back at 4 PM when we finally got the room. The room was clean and mist could be seen from the windows. They had vending machine on every floor but was not stocked properly. The vending machines were managed by an outsourced company. Internet was OK. The breakfast did not have much variety. Overall I will recommend staying in this hotel because of its proximty to the falls.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the higher floor.
