Great way to spend the day, seeing the Falls. Many activities to do at the park. Wonderful photo opportunities.

I was last here 15 years ago and there have been so many improvements since then. I wish I had more time to linger and explore.

For 20 years, we have gone to the "Canadian side" of the Falls because everyone says it has better views. It does, BUT the American side is great in its own right. It is way less developed (the park, not the town) and you can get up close and personal with the river/falls.

While planning our little trip to Niagara Falls, I read various review sites that seemed to say that the Canadian side of the falls is a lot better. Having visited the State Park at Goat Island, I can see how there are differences in the experiences at the falls. The Canadian side has a bit more glitz and activity, for sure. But for nature lovers and those who are not looking for a glitzy, touristy visit, the State Park might be right up your alley.
Our family of four spent about four to five hours at the park, taking in the sights. There is a lot to see and experience. We didn't do the big attractions like the Cave of the Winds or the boat rides. In fact, we basically walked around and rode the trolley. It was a wonderful time that we will never forget. All told, we spent ten dollars for parking and six dollars to ride the trolley. We decided not to eat there due to the typical prices of food at attractions like this. Had I thought ahead, I would have packed a nice picnic lunch. We saw lots of people enjoying a picnic lunch on the grassy lawn under beautiful Sycamore trees.

We paid $12 for parking on Goat Island after circling the downtown area near the Hard Rock Café and several lots were already full (Sunday).

We walked to several vantage points and enjoyed the views. Many people opted for the trolley and we noticed lines everywhere since it was a weekend and the weather was beautiful that day.

There are lots of public restrooms and eateries throughout the park. You can get lots of exercise just walking everywhere.
