Owner description: This exciting tour outfits you in a hooded raincoat and takes you into a cave and then along a catwalk near the foot of the falls for an up-close, wet and very rewarding view of the thunderous, cascading waters.

“Be prepared to get soaked”

If you are doing the rounds in Niagara Falls - go here before the Maid of the Mist boat ride. This tour provides sandals - think Teva- that will really save your shoes on the boat tour. First, this is not a cave - so I'm not sure why they call it that. Parts of the "trail" were very slippery and I was a little concerned one of the kids would slip or fall. It was very cool to be sprayed with the mist coming off of the falls - you will get completely soaked!

“Great Fun”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

ok, i do agree they should change the name because it is not a cave. But it is an experience of a lifetime, a view of the falls like no other and to be able to feel the power of the water is amazing. you will get wet if you get close to the falls. and the ponchos dont help when you are wearing pants because they get soaked.

We loved to walk around and you have to take and elevator down to the bottom of the Fall on the American Side and you can see the falls and some times there are rainbows over the falls we seen them and got a picture . we had a great day.

“Definitely THE No. 1 thing to do when you visit”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Touristy(!) but LOTS of fun. You will get wet! I have been to Niagara several times and this is by far in a way my favourite attraction. It is on the American side of the falls which is (perhaps surprisingly) less developed and crowded than the Canadian side. If you are doing the other two 'falls' activities (maid of the mist and behind the falls) I would do cave of the winds last- it is the most fun and interactive. The other two (particularly behind the falls) will seem an anticlimax if experienced afterwards. They give you sandals to wear which are then donated afterwards to a charity which I thought was a nice touch.

“Close to the falls”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

You can get really close to the base of the falls. Beware of the seagulls (and their "gifts" from the sky). You get a nice poncho (with which you can protect yourself not only against the water, but mainly against the seagulls ;). However, the walking platforms are a bit short, so you get bored after a couple of minutes.
