We had a wait, but not long, maybe 5-10 min. You do get soaked, I had a messenger bag, where I carried flip flops to change in and out of from tennis shoes during the day. you should pick up a waterproof camera in the gift shop, $19.99 (27 pic) to take some photos up close, . at one point you won't even be able to see because of the spray, it is amazing, a def. must do while in Niagara. We did this on the U.S. side before we crossed over to Canada, it seemed like the crowds were smaller on the U.S. side.

“Go in the afternoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2009

We went from the American side, and since there was talk about lots of tourists in the mornings, we went about 3 PM.

There was NO wait. There WAS a tour group, but it was low key. The Maid staff are very efficient at funneling you on and off the boat. And the ride was spectacular and WET--you really do need those raincoats!!

Warning to those afraid of heights or enclosed spaces--you have to walk across an bridge over the river gorge to get to the elevator to take you downstairs, and then you have the elevator ride itself. It was an ordeal for a nervous teen with us--though she loved the boat ride itself. And she did not want to go out onto the observation desk beyond the elevator--but for those of you who do, you will get another fabulous view of the river and the Falls!

This was one of the highlights of our trip. There is nothing like experiencing the power of the falls...

“Don't miss it. This is THE #1 thing to do here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2009

We took little kids (6, 5, 4, 2, >1) and all had a great time. No worries. The baby actually slept through it somehow. The ride was over all too quickly. 5 and under are free which is a great deal!
