“Newburgh Treasure”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

Last evening I visited El Solar Cafe for approximately the seventh time. On this occasion I brought out-of-town visitors, both of whom were as delighted with this restaurant as I have been. Dinner was as delicious as usual and beautifully served, Most importantly, the owners made us feel not only welcome, but very special guests. Food, decor, and service are all first-rate. This is truly a hidden treasure in the city of Newburgh.

“Wonderful!!”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

I had the opportunity to dine at the El Solar Café in Newburgh, NY. It was excellent. I had calamari as an appetizer, then a shrimp dish that was also delicious. The owner checked on us to make certain all was well. The service was fantastic. I can’t wait to return.

“Good food and good experience.”

Delicious lunch, freshly prepared in an elegant old world setting. The location can be intimidating as it is in an older area of town. Recommend street parking directly in front of the restaurant.

“Yum!”

We were passing by Newburgh on the Interstate and decided to stop for lunch. Checked TripAdvisor, directed GPS to El Solar. Has a delicious lunch served by a gracious staff. Would return again in a heartbeat if we lived anywhere nearby.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed April 11, 2014

We arrived early (5:00pm on a Friday). We were the only diners in the place. The chef actually seated us and recommended a wine. The menu isn't all that, but the specials. Oh, the specials. The chef explained each dish in detail. Pay attention, because there are several specials, and they all sounded to die for.

The place started filling up with what seemed to be regulars. That didn't cause our service to suffer a bit. We had quite an enjoyable meal. We'll definitely be returning to see what new masterpieces the chef is turning out.

Oh, by the way, nothing was frozen or canned. Everything was prepared from fresh. Love it!
