“Best weekend we ever had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

I never take the time to do reviews, and we literally just got home from a four hour drive home and this is one of the first things we are doing. We had such a wonderful time this weekend for a four day long weekend. I can not say enough about the unbelievable hospitality that Art and Corinne provided us. we felt at home from the minute we walked in. the only bad thing i can say is i think we gained about ten pounds from the unbelievable cooking from Corrine. Every morning we woke up to excellent company, coffee and the most phenomenal homemade breakfast, and i am not talking bacon and eggs. Corrine made the most creative dishes and baked goods. We will be going back very soon because of them and there place. i would recommend the mountain meadows to anyone.

Thank you,

Jason and Cara

My husband and I stayed here at the end of October 2012 for two nights for our one year anniversary. My husband surprised me with the trip, but he couldn't have picked a better place. Our room was large and very comfortable. The charming and comfortable setting, as well as the unparalleled hospitality of Art and Corinne made us feel like we were staying with our family!

From the awesome advice for hiking in Minnewaska state park (a must!), to the incredible (seriously) homemade breakfast spread Corinne makes (homemade Applesauce, whipped cream, pumpkin muffins, baked eggs, etc etc) to the fireplace and hot tub, we couldn't have been happier. When they found out it was our first anniversary, they even told the restaurant we went to to put the wine on their tab. What sweet people, and what a find! We hope to return!

The entire experience, including the owners, the surrounding area, the views, and the amazing breakfast...

Unusual for a B&B as it includes a pool, a hot tub and panoramic views of the Mohunk Tower and the Gunks.

We have been coming here for a long time and it is always our first choice - not only for New Paltz, but for any B&B anywhere.

Mountain Meadows is everything you could want in a Bed & Breakfast. Art & Corinne really go out of their way to make your stay special. The daily breakfast is worth writing home about. Each day we were blown away by the breakfast, which typically kept us full all day long. But it wasn't just big; it was delicious! Baked eggs with spinach. Baked apples. Homemade breads and waffles with real New York syrup! You could go just for the breakfast and not be disappointed.

Art was great at helping us find the local bicycle routes and exciting things to check out. His advice was always spot on and he was able to save us a lot of headaches by warning us of things we would have never known without him, like the fact that adults need bicycle helmets to cycle in the Minnewaska State Park Preserve. Not only was he able to warn us in advance but he even had helmets for us! I'd also forgot my swim trunks but, again, Art saved the day.

There's no shortage of great things to do in New Paltz and all of it is very close to Mountain Meadows, but not too close! We spent most of our time exploring the bike trails around the area and the beautiful fall foliage. But we had one really bad rainy day where we pretty much spent the day at the B&B and it was lovely. The social room has a full-size billiards, huge TV with tons of movies, books, basically everything and anything you could want to enjoy a nice rainy day inside.

A nightly dip in the spa was wonderful. There's also a pool, though we came in the fall and had no use for it. The views from the deck are stunning with the Mohonk Mountains.

Our room was great. The bed was gigantic and so fluffy we joked about getting lost in it.

Some reviewer gave the impression that Art & Corinne were "in your face," but we found just the opposite. They were the perfect balance of being there when we needed them but never hung around too long. They were a joy to be around and by the end of our trip we couldn't help but feel like part of the family. If you're thinking of heading to New Paltz I'd highly recommend a stay at Mountain Meadows.

I'd never stayed at a bed and breakfast and was hesitant to do so but the reviews for MMB&B were so positive I gave it a try. I'm so glad I did! The house is huge (I live in Manhattan so take that with a grain of salt) and our room was quite large. We traveled with two dogs who were welcomed with open arms - which is very nice. The room was very clean with everything we needed to keep warm and be comfortable. There is a great social room with a fireplace, pool table, games, puzzles, books, movies. Although there is plenty of outdoor fun to be had in New Paltz we hit a rainy patch so hung out at the house one day. And had a blast! Hot tub outside was comfortable and fun. It was too cold for the pool but there is one on the premises. The back and side yards are large and we were able to run around with the dogs and relax. Super quiet and laid back.

And of course, I have to mention Corrine and Art - gracious hosts. We'd forgotten a few items and they loaned us theirs without hesitation. The breakfast is more than advertised - delicious, hot and enormous. I'm a breakfast person and there was no way I could eat all that was offered! I wanted to though bc it was so good. Cheese and cracker plate in the afternoon was a great snack after cycling all day and really hit the spot. There are also snacks in the kitchen and fresh baked goods to have whenever the mood strikes. Cookies and milk before bed was a rare treat! The hosts are experts in the area and gave great advice on what to do and how to get there.

All in all, just a great experience.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Ivy Room. It was lovely and sleeps at least 5 should you need. It's right across t...

Mountain Meadows is loaded with games to play, books to read and articles of local interest. The setting is quiet. The beds and bedding are very comfortable. Everything is clean. Art and Corinne chatted with us while they cooked a lavish breakfast that held us until three in the afternoon. That helped our budget and gave us more time to see the local sights. We often dined early and returned to the gathering room to sip wine, knit, and watch deer in the meadow. After our four day visit, Corinne and Art became our friends.

What a terrific find. Wonderful hosts; great accommodations and an absolutely delicious breakfast. The view is spectacular. We were fortunate to have found a fabulous place to stay in New Paltz. Definitely beats staying at a local motel because of the accommodations, food, and cordiality.
