“Wonderful getaway”
Reviewed November 5, 2009

I definitely recommend Hungry Ghost House for everyone who is seeking a romantic, relaxed, and comfortable getaway in the Hudson Valley. Petra and Mike are wonderful hosts who make you feel at home. The jacuzzi is a plus! No matter the season, it is great to spend time outside in the hot water, relaxing from hiking and climbing. It is the forth or fifth time I was there, and certainly will come back soon.

Stayed October 2009, traveled as a couple

While visiting State University of New York at New Paltz with my daughter I enjoyed this most unique Bed and Breakfast just 10 minutes from the University. The hosts are both connected with the school, Mike as a the Cross Country coach and Petra teaches nutrition there, so it was nice to get a bit of "insider" info while my daughter explored with some students.
The setting here is gorgeous. The house is hidden in a Hemlock clearing so it is very natural yet bright and sunny. The open kitchen dining area overlooked a deck with hot tub and pond (nice birdwatching, too). Beakfast was delicious vegan pancakes with warm apple and other toppings.
I slept well on air dried hand pressed linens toped with a down comforter. Guests can also enjoy the rail trail just a half mile from the house or the Mohoonk Preserve, which the hosts will provide
you a pass to.
This B&B is truly a hidden Gem!
