“Beatiful views and great hiking.”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

I love this area. I have been walking and hiking here since I was a kid. There are trails for hikers of all experience levels. The views are wonderful. It is near the land of Mohonk Mountain House which is also beautiful. You often see a lot of wildlife while hiking here as well. It is a real gem.

My visit to Mohonk offered one pleasant surprise after another. The property is breathtakingly beautiful and serene. A great place to go to enjoy the beauty of the area. Can't wait to go again.

“Nature at her most beautiful”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Just minutes from New Paltz NY, The Mohonk Preserve offers hundreds of acres of pristine woods and mountains for hiking, trail biking, rock climbing - the Shawangunk Mountains are world famous for their sheer rock faces - and an amazing swimming hole at Split Rock on the Coxing Kill.
Visit the Visitor's Center on Highways 55/44 for iinformation, maps and some fascinating educational displays about the area flora and fauna.
Taken together with the Minnewaska State Park that abuts Mohonk, this is one of the most beautiful natural areas a person could find anywhere, 12 months of the year.

Beautiful. Great range of hikes and climbs for different ability levels. Areas to be alone and areas that are more trafficked. Well maintained trails.

“What a glorious place...”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

This is a true gem just minutes from New Paltz, NY. The hotel and grounds are meticulously kept. The driveway to get to the hotel must be the longers in the world. You have to have a reservation for the hotel or restauarant or be attending a group function to get through the gate though. I think you can buy a day pass to walk the trails which I hear are very scenic and a must see. Highly recommend. Just check out the ratings for their restaurant and you'll be impressed too.
