“Delicious Mexican Cuisine, reasonably priced”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

I've been to Maria's twice now and enjoyed it both times. The first time I went was for a special Tapas occasion with some friends. We ordered lots of smaller dishes and picked to enjoy the variety. They were delicious, as was the Watermelon Sangria. My last visit was with a friend for dinner. We got there just before the rush. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, go by 5:30 the latest or you will wait. The chip basket was fresh and delicious. The steak was tender and the rice and beans were very tasty. We split a dessert that was rich and delicious. I can see why they have a "Best of Long Island" banner. Enjoy!

“Best Spanish Food on Long Island”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Been to Maria's several times. Go on the off hours or you'll wait and wait and wait. If you order typical spanish food like tacos, burritos etc...you will be disappointed. Think outside of the box. Order something a little more exciting and you'll love it. Staff is friendly. Salsa is weird. Restaurant is clean yet small. Maria is friendly when she's in the mood.

“Very mediocre”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

We went to Maria's on Saturday night, May 11, 2013. To begin with, the line was out the door and the space was inadequate. Then, we were shown to our table, which was cramped and very uncomfortable seating. We had fajitas which were very sub par, and two shrimp dishes that lacked seasoning. The pork dish was bland pulled pork. We ordered San Gria which was nothing more that fruit juice, ice and a few pieces of fruit. The wine was absent. The fried ice cream was not fried, but ice cream balls that were rolled in sugar.
Maria's was not very authentic, perhaps, you could move the table when the guest were not present. The service was hit and miss. I would never go back.

“very good authentic food”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

We went to Maria's last night for the first time. We were celebrating our daughters birthdays. We really enjoyed it. My husband and I had the specials. I had coconut encrusted Chilean sea bass with a pineapple chipolte glaze but didn't think it was worth the $32. My husband had a filet mignon that was suppsed to have all this seafood on it (said lump crab and calamari) but really didn't have all of that some baby scallops and shrimp but the sauce that was over it was very good but again not worth the $34.00. Our daughters had paella which was OUTRAGEOUS and our other daughter had a skirt steak with a quesadilla which was also good. Some of our dishes were served with rice and beans and plantains. All very good. The margaritas were OK not the best I have ever had. The desserts were fantastic. We had deep friend ice cream and the sweet plantain ice cream with caramel sauce both DELISH! Best part was they came out with sombreros for each of our girls (who turned 18 and 21) and sang very loud and made lots of noise with maracas and horns! It was a lot of fun and we will go back. Next time will try more of the traditional mexican food and the sangria.

“Great neighborhood restaurant”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

I love to sit at the bar and eat. The food is very good and fresh. They have a wide variety of food on the menu. The sangria is awesome and so are the margaritas. The prices are good too.
