“Hearty breakfast and good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

The three of us had breakfast around 10:30 AM on a recent Sunday, and it was very good overall. Some of the earlier reviews are harsh, but the place is a diner, not the Four Seasons, and it is a very good diner. We were seated immediately in a clean, comfortable booth. The waiter was very attentive, as were all the people who brought coffee and water (frequently, never had to ask), cleaned up our dishes and in taking payment for the bill (the waiter took this, no waiting in line for the cashier). The food was plentiful and delicious. The manager (owner?) personally thanked us as we headed out. I recommend the Nanuet Diner for a good breakfast.

“Decent Food and Service and Conveniently Located!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

The Nanuet Diner may not be the greatest place in the world to eat, but the menu is extensive, the food is decent, the portions are ample, and the prices are fine. Plus the location is a very good one, close to all the major highways for New York State and nearby New Jersey too.

Also, be on the lookout for a local celeb, (who can this TV personality be??), who has a home nearby right on the Hudson. She was in the booth near ours the day we ate there and she has been known to frequent this and similar local joints from time to time. Not that her presence makes the food any better, but ... (Hint: She's a Yankees fan who was in a baseball movie!)

The service was fine and they kept coming around filling our coffee cups. One more thing, it may help to speak a little Spanish, as most of the staff are Latinos. You would be pleasantly surprised at how far a quick "Buenos Dias" or "Gracias" could go towards making the Nanuet Diner experience a bit more enjoyable for all.

Easy location to meet clients for a lunch. Good food, and service. Large selection on menu. Usually no wait with food served promptly.

“Woody Allen Joke(without the punchline)”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2012

Woody Allen tells a joke of how horrible the service and food was in a restaurant. On Monday the waiter we had was horrible, we seldom saw him, the food was worse. The soup was cold, for the main dish I had fillet of sole, the plate was totally covered in a sauce, it looked more like a soup than a fish. The fish tasted very gamey, deffinitely not fillet of sole. The fruted jello for dessert had a tang as if it was spoiled. In the Woody Allen story after he tells how bad and uneatable the food was the punchline was "and the portions were so small" The portions here are very large.

Service was ok so as the food. I've never been back since last year I've been to a better dinner in Blauvelt Ny.
