All of the staff was extremely helpful, expecially the Bartender Mike who went the extra mile Sunday night of Labor Day weekend to accomodate our family of 6 (incluing my mother-in-law) for dinner at the Catamount Restaurant.

Room Tip: The Lodge is wonderful. Rooms with windows to the North and East face the stream, which you can he...

We live in NYC, and have a place nearby, so we've only every gone to the spa. However, it just keeps getting better and better. The staff at the desk are always so pleasant and helpful (customer service is so often non-existent these days!), and the massage therapists are wonderful. I was at Great Jones Spa in the city the other day, and the Emerson was much better!

However, a couple nits that need to be remedied: the steam/sauna rooms are often on the fritz. Unacceptable when you've planned a day around relaxing. FIX THIS. Also, the back patio (where the hot tub is) is lovely, but think about replacing that awful, brown carpet. It says Old College Apartment, not Relaxing Spa.

The perfect fall foliage and relaxation resort. The spa treatments are among the best I have ever enjoyed. The peaceful surroundings, including the river walk and lack of any motorized carts or elevators in the resort make this super lush resort a must-stay. The room ammenties are top notch- fireplace, balcony, multi-jet super sized jacuzzi and steam shower, canopy-type bed and beautiful decor. Nice nice. Of course, Woodstock is only a few miles away and you just have to go there once in awhile !!

Room Tip: The basic room is more than enough !

This is a nice property with beautiful large rooms, wonderful bathrooms, and a really nice private porch. I had a very average spa treatment. The shops in the resort are amazing! Great breakfast quality and value. However, the dinner options are ridiculously limited. We had really bad food at the Catskill restaurant, poor service, horrible AC - we were freezing in July!
The area is beautiful if you wanna go hiking. Visit Woodstock, is cute, fun and relaxing.
I would not come back to this hotel unless i have no other options. Is very forgettable.

Our wedding exceeded all expectations. From the moment we first visited the Emerson, in January 2008, we knew this was a special place. When it came time to plan our wedding we decided to return. Marci worked with us throughout planning and insured that our day was special and memorable. Guests raved about the food, atmosphere and great time they had. We stayed in an Imperial Suite in the Inn which could not have been more comfortable. It was so convenient to have 2 bathrooms and a separate bedroom when it was time to get ready for the ceremony.
This was truly a wonderful event at a beautiful location and we cannot wait to go back.
Thank you Marci for insuring our wedding dreams all came true.

We spent here a night during our trip and we arrived late in the evening. It was all dark and it was difficult to find the lobby and then our building. Moreover, we read at the lobby that the bear could be around, so it was a bit scary when we get off the car and when taking the luggages we heard some noise and saw something moving among the trees. Anyway, the apartment was wonderful and very clean. It was really big and peculiar. The food was average, but the waitress did some mistakes during breakfast, when she brought something different from what we ordered and the bill was wrong.
