“Gross. Unfortunately not any better options in the area.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2012

Stayed here in June 2012 for DMB at Bethel Woods. The drive is about 15 minutes to the venue. Service was very good. Check in was fast and friendly. The maid was very helpful giving us extra towels and garbage bags. The place is gross though. Stained carpet throughout, looks like blood, this was in rooms, stairways, etc. I had to wear shower shoes because the tub was not very clean. Heard mice in the ceiling all night. Found some stray hairs on sheets and blankets. Unfortunately there are not a lot of options in Monticello and have heard that this place is the lesser of all evils. Stayed here 2 years ago and the place has gone downhill since then...we will see what next year brings.

The stairwells to the rooms was so stained it looked like a horror movie had just been filmed there. The wifi only works in the lobby and the first few rooms closest to the lobby. In the morning we could see daylight all around our door and the a/c unit hanging in the wall.

Room Tip: Get a room right next to the lobby on the top floor because it's quiter. Better yet...get a roo...

This place was about what I expected for the price. It's pretty basic and run down, but it's fine if you just need a place to crash for the night. We stayed here while in town for a concert at Bethel Woods and it was only about 20 minutes away from the venue (mostly on 1 road). This place was the cheapest option around.

We stayed in a 1 Queen bed room which was pretty small, but had a small couch and coffee table, along with a desk and chair. There was a slight smell of mold and smoke in the room and the floor was a little dirty. The bathroom was a decent size, but the door wouldn't close. The room had a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, small refrigerator, microwave and a 27" Zenith tube TV. We were on the upper level and the whole room shook every time somebody ran down the balcony. The front desk was very helpful and friendly and the lobby had a nice little area to sit and eat a free continental breakfast, although I didn't try it.

Stopped here for a night to go see a band at Bethel Woods (another travesty that I'll write about)... Front desk was very helpful and informative, room was a dive. The floor actually buckled while walking on it, paper thin walls/ floors made for a crappy night's sleep. Its a shame because everything else was fine. Do yourself a fave and ask for the very last room in the back on the second floor if you can and you might notmhave to hear everybody else all night creaking around.

Room Tip: Ask for a 2nd floor room, all the way at the end in the back if possible.

This motel was much better than what we had expected. We only paid forty five dollars a night, so we really weren't expecting much. It was only two nights and it was our cheapest option, so we settled for it. It was a great settlement. We thought we were settling for less but got the exact opposite. We walked in and the woman named Corey was at the front desk. She was very friendly and kindly changed our room to one on the top floor like we wanted. We then walked into the room and were blown away. It was much nicer than the pictures. The t.v. was flat screen by the way, but on the pictures it shows the older television set. It also has lots of cable channels. In addition to all of this, the room was very clean, the bathroom was clean as well. Everything about it was great. The breakfast didn't really have much options but it still wasn't bad considering the price that we were paying. It really is great. I loved my two night stay here and wish I had booked to stay longer. This motel is def worth way more than the price. It has exceeded my husband and I's expectations.

The rooms are small for $90 a night, but compared to the two other dirty, expensive, bed bug ridden hotels I've had the displeasure of staying at in Monticello, it was a deal. You get a mini fridge and a microwave and a clean bed with brand new mattresses. The only other downsides were that it is a relatively noisy area, which was not buffered by the thin walls and the cleaning crew had obviously not vacuumed under/behind the furniture in a while. The continental breakfast is well worth skipping- pre-packaged mini doughnuts, two kinds of cereal, and a juice dispenser that gave out an odd pinkish grapefruit-colored orange juice into tiny Styrofoam cups.

We chose Super 8 while visiting friends in Friench Woods, a camp about 45-50 minutes away because all closer accomidations were booked. We were pleasently suprised and pleased with the cleanliness of the room. The king sized bed was so comfortable, the pillows were fluffy. The room (206) was very quiet. Breakfast was typical for this chain, muffins, donuts, two types of cereal, milk, juices, tea and coffee. We like a hot breakfast, so had our tea and walked to the diner down the road. The hotel is walking distance from town and restaurants. The front desk staff, Nat was very helpful. I recommend this hotel and would stay again.
