“Oh, le joie de vivre!”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

The view and the locations are maybe the most beautiful i've been in my life. Never enjoyed a dinner so much because of the view. I have no words, I am gonna cry just remembering the stunning Atlantic Sea in from of my eyes. Even the fight between a woman and his husband in front of us in the middle of our meal was charming, She went to the little beach they have in front of the port and yelled at him, super drunk: "You sold the house! I hate you and your mother!" A scene taken from "The Real Housewives of Montauk".

What can I say about the view, you see the boats in and out from the Atlantic Ocean to the lake, from a port that looks like Amsterdam in the 1800. Oh, le joie de vivre!, the enjoyment of life!, the exultation of the spirit. A sentiment exaltant ressenti par toute la conscience.
The sushi was ok. Some of the fishes tasted ultra fresh, the hamachi was luscious. The burrito was appetizing. The service was fine. Thanks to other reviews we got in the right time. Maybe we missed the sunset, but we didn't miss the place full packed, full of children, waiting more than one hour to get a table for two inside. We had the best table in the terrace, it was for ourselves and the crazy drunk real housewife of Montauk (for a few minutes). It was like a Broadway show. Bravo Inlet, bravo for your cordiality and geniality.

“Inlet Restaurant not so "In"”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

We were told by some of the locals in Montauk that the Inlet Seafood Restaurant was a " must do" while in town. We called for reservations but they did not take reservations. The wait time was an hour an half on a Thursday Night,.

The drive from the center of town is about 4.5 files. It is off of route 27 (3) miles on East Lake Drive. The road is very dark..

Their is plenty of parking. The restaturant is on the second floor. You can take the elevator or the the stairs. The restaurant has one general seating area inside plus a bar. There is an outside eating areas. The night we dined their were only four tables outside. It was very windy outside and a bit chilly.

They provided pagers so they could notify you when your table was ready. They told us they had a shorter wait for outside tables. I parked at the samet time another family of four parked next to me. (We had a party of three). They were seated in less time inside then we were seated outusde, Word to wise watch the hostess, seems they have their favorites that get to bypass the waiting list.

The service was very good once seated. We have our drink orders, soups, and salads in very accepatable time frame. We had the clam chower and the Portableeo Salad. the presenation was good and it was very tasty.

For our main course, we had Tempura Code Skillets and Fries, the Fish Burrito and the Scallops. All was very good. There was a good selection of seafood dishes and Sushi.

Overall the food was good but worth the wait.

“Disappointing Experience”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

We were looking forward to a delightful lunch overlooking the water. Unfortunately our waitress appeared to have an attitude. My sister has several food allergies and when she nicely asked for a few simple substitutions our waitress was not at all accommodating. After some insistence on our part, she finally made one substitution but charged us an outlandish price for the change. I would not dine there again based on that experience.

“Get there early. Well worth it.”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

This restaurant doesn't take reservations so if you get there around 8, be prepared to wait awhile.

My family showed up at 6 pm on Sunday and we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is beautiful. We were able to watch the sunset over the water which was priceless.

Now onto the meal....our family of 8 had just about everything on the menu and loved everything about it. I personally had the mussels and shrimp for appetizers. Cooked to perfection. For dinner I had the chicken Milanese which was really good however I tried the seafood fra diavolo which was fantastic.

Loved it and will definitely be back.

“Good food with great sunset view”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

We had an early dinner at Inlet last Friday night. We were immediately seated at an outdoor table at our request. For starters we had the Caesar salad and dumplings, both good. Main course was chicken Milanese, pounded chicken, crispy fried topped with a lightly dressed salad and seafood fra diablo, spicy shrimp, mussels and clams over linguine, we asked for the dish without the clams and it wasn't a problem. We took our time eating as we wanted to stay for the sunset and we're not rushed at all. A very enjoyable evening.
