“My favorite seafood restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

The grilled scallops were cooked well and my wife enjoyed the sushi. The grilled black sea bass was delicious and the montauk point oysters were odorless and tender. all seafood (with the exception of salmon) is caught by the restaurants fisherman daily.

Dear JamesAhn,

Thanks for choosing Inlet Seafood for your meal.

Just thinking about the local whole grilled sea bass, yum, had it last night with seaweed and the sweet-chili sauce. Your oysters, you will be pleased to know, were grown right in Lake Montauk. You are correct re the seafood we serve, almost always caught from one of our boats, or caught locally, with the exception of the salmon, and (perhaps for sushi the hamachi and octopus.) We at Inlet really believe in the importance of using local catch that benefits our community, and it's good to know that our customers find this to be important too!

Have a great day and thanks again for the review.
Hope to see you again this season or in 2014!

Dear german_in_nyc,

Hi and thanks for your review of Inlet Seafood. Glad you enjoyed your lunch, but you must come back for dinner, there's a whole lot going on in our menu, including nightly specials, that don't even make it onto the lunch menu! Plus a smorgasbord of sushi options, if we do say so ourselves! This way, you can experience the full breadth of our menu AND enjoy possibly the best sunset view in Montauk.

Should you be heading east, we are open seven days a week through Columbus day weekend, then a modified week-end schedule through November, and will reopen for the 2014 season in February on President's Day weekend or thereabouts. Hope you will have a chance to join us and have that dinner and see for yourself!

Have a great day and thanks again for choosing Inlet Seafood!

Dear Momlov,

Thanks for the lov(e) for both our menu and our location. We see you have found out one of the somewhat well-kept (not really!) secrets of Inlet Seafood, amazing meat dishes! The steak is killer, for sure, but so is the cheeseburger! Give it a try next time if you are looking for something equally delish and carnivore-ish.

Thanks again for the great review hope to see you again this season or next!

“Sunset scene is great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

We prefer casual beachy restaurants when we go to Montauk and this fits the bill. There's an outside deck that's worth waiting for. The food was fresh and well seasoned. Service was friendly. There is a no substitutions policy which meant ordering a different dish if you do not like the accompaniments. This was off season on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Be prepared for a wait.

Dear Lindaofny,

Thanks so much for your review of Inlet Seafood, we do like to think of ourselves as an authentic slice of casual Montauk, and it's good to see you agree! Glad everything was to your liking, except for the wait. Unfortunately since we don't take reservations, some nights are trickier than others, but in the future, if you come by around 5:30 p.m., the wait is usually minimal.

Thanks again and have a great day!

“Best of the Beach - Summer Sunsets”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

Inlet Seafood is sure to deliver a good meal and a great sunset view. Get there early ( by 6:30) if you don't want to wait. They do have a nice ground floor waiting area with beautiful views which makes it bearable in addition to the bar area. I always sit outdoors even though it can get quite breezy so don't forget a sweater even in the heat of summer. The deck off the bar gets less wind but more people from the bar area come out to look at the view. Often, they will stand right next to you, drink in hand so opt for the other deck if possible. The staff is very accommodating and works to insure you have a pleasurable experience. I always have the lobster which is reliably good. My husband says the fish and chips are just okay. My sister orders the sushi and I must say it is beautifully arranged on the plate. She's ordered it several times so it must be good. We've had a few food items here and there they have been disappointing and the manager has discounted the bill. We keep going back.

Dear NYCgirl20,

Thanks for your very detailed review of Inlet Seafood, I'm glad to know that you and your husband are frequent customers. Your insights re the best time to arrive for seating, and clothing choices on the deck, and choosing which deck are spot on!

We at Inlet strive to make every meal special and so it is disappointing to hear that you've had to send items back, but please, continue to do so if we don't make your menu choice live up to your standards. it is very important to us to get it right, and at the very least, I'm glad to see that our manager has discounted your bill when need be. That being said, I really hope your husband will attempt the fish and chips again. It is one of our most popular dishes and we'd really like for your husband to taste how good it really can be! Glad you've enjoyed the lobster and your sister the sushi!

Thanks again for your review and we hope you will continue to frequent us toward the end of this season, or in 2014!
