The former Montauk Airforce station is now a NYS park. Lots of hiking and beautiful views of the bluffs and ocean. Don't let the sign that tells you if you should come across any unexploded ammunion to scare you off. Conspiracy theorists say secret experiments took place there. Books have been written about this ("The Montauk Project").

I liked the entire park and I have not dislikes. Remember to pack or rent a bike. It was very clean and the beach walk is a must.

Beautiful and quiet. Just check yourself for ticks when you get home - I found one on my back after we got home.

We spent a Saturday afternoon hiking the Camp Hero trails. We parked near the old radar station which is huge. Took a trail to the bluffs with a great lighthouse view. Then we took The Battery 113 trail which was amazing. There were wooden bridges over creeks on the trail, gently rolling hills and the hike took less than a hour. We also visited the bunkers which housed the WWII 16 inch guns which were amazing.

It was cold so ticks were less a problem than during the summer but the whole area is full of ticks so be prepared

Been traveling to Montauk for over 30 years. I never knew this was there. It has some great views of the ocean and lighthouse. We were there in time for a beautiful sunset.
