“Very good!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2008

We spent last weekend at the Beach Plum and really enjoyed our stay. The balcony is the best part - the ocean view is great (minus the power lines running through it)! We were in unit 16 which was very comfortable & nautically decorated. Only complaints: there were 2 other guests in our unit having their dinner when we arrived at 9:30 on Friday night, in the rain...the management hadn't made an error, it was just some owners of another unit who knew that management leaves units open for guests arriving late and decided to try to take advantage of it ... they left without too much trouble, leaving their dirty dishes behind. The other thing was that our sheets were torn in two places - not a big deal but sort of tacky. Those things aside, we were very happy with our stay at Beach Plum & would recommend it!

We always have a great time at the Plum. Super view, beach access great, pool clean and warm. Walk into town is perfect distance. We stay in unit 12 a really nice corner unit that looks brand new. We love to sit on the deck and watch the ocean. Can't wait to go back!!! We never want to leave!!!

My Husband an I have stayed in Unit #12 at the Beach Plum many times. Our last stay was in Sept. 2007. We will only rent unit #12. The unit has 2 tastefully decorated rooms and Bath, that reflect the Beauty of Montauk. The Bedroom has a Queen sized bed with a pillow soft Mattress and a comfortable twin bed . The Living room is very large and has a Cathedral ceilng . There is a dining set placed in front of the sliding doors to the deck,so you have a view of the ocean. There is also a full kitchen area with a micro-wave, toaster oven etc. The living room also has a queen sofa bed. The unit also has a TV in the Living room and one in the Bedroom. There are games for the children and an assortment of books for all. The unit has a large deck with lounges and table and chairs. You can sit on the deck and view the Ocean and enjoy the gentle sea breezes! We love this Seaside getaway and will stay here again and again when we are in Montauk.

I can't say enough about the Beach Plum and unit #12. We stayed for a week in unit 12 and it was even better than last year! The owners seem to really love their unit and do something new every year. This year we were pleasantly surprised to find brand new bamboo floors! The unit is so beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. The bathroom is superbly tiled and they even have two TV’s and DVD players, in the living room and in the bedroom. Every year we make sure to book this unit because the owner has also provided board games, Nintendo, and plenty of novels for reading on the beach. There are also folding chairs you can take down to the beach. The view from the deck is awesome. We really love the property and Greg, the manager is always very helpful and he keeps the property well maintained. We look forward to coming back every year!

i just came home from a weekend at the beach plum resort. I have to say that this was far more than my expectations could have imagined. We stayed in room 20. It was clean, quaint, and they thought of everything anyone could need for a comfortable stay. The hospitality was perfect, and housekeeping never missed a beat. I am already planning another trip back to the Beach Plum for the fall. The grounds give a botanical feel, and the walk to the beach was all of 5 minutes. It's a short walk to town, so you never have to get back into your car until you leave Montauk. It's a great place for people of all ages, and I can't wait to go back!!!!! Anyone who thinks otherwise, doesn't know the meaning of quaint. Everyone should try to stay at the Beach Plum when they go to Montauk!

For a family event we stayed in the two bedroom cottage at the Beach Plum. We were not looking for luxury, just a clean, place to stay, near the festivities. The only word to describe our cottage is YUK.. I will give it up that it was private, big deck, ocean view and close to the beach, great landscaping. If only we didn't have to sleep and shower in that pit of a cottage, I would have loved it. Couldn't wait to come home take a shower, and feel really clean. Perhaps the other units were better, as my understanding is that they are all owned.

My family just returned from a 4 night stay at the Beach Plum. This was our first time staying in Montauk. We decided on the one bedroom cottage. A little note to start out with, we stayed in cottage number 4 and it is not pictured on the site. This is a little deceiving. The website should be updated. To be fair, overall the cottage was decent. The deck was private and there was a small yard that you could use but it was shared with the connected cottage. The inside needed a little work. It could have been cleaner, the bathroom only had a very small shower and was cramped. The housekeeping closet is located right outside the bathroom window and this could be a problem since you really have to keep your windows and shades open to allow the breeze to cool off the unit (there are no air conditioners). It has a full kitchen (minus an oven) with utensils, pots, etc provided. The bedroom is located next to the exit so you hear the cars passing by your head late at night and early in the morning. There is a 10pm quiet time but this is not enforced. I would normally not care but when you travel with children this could be a problem. To get to the beach you have to walk across Old Montauk Hwy and through the dunes using a narrow path. We didnt like this because we had a lot of stuff to haul including carrying an 18 month old. The pool was a short walk. The pool was heated and there seemed to be plenty of chairs and tables available. There is not a lifeguard on duty, nor is there a restroom near the pool. You have to go back to the room for that. There is also not a snack bar or restaurant on the premises. The walk to town is not far but if you have small children it is probably better to drive. Overall, this place was a bit over priced (we paid approx. $300/night) with very few amenities. This was not the place for our family. We already made our reservations for next year at the Royal Atlantic which is located in town. It also has more of a "Resort" feel and there seems to be more famiies with small children there. It is located right on the beach and the pool is right outside the room. There is a restaurant on the premises. The Beach Plum seems to be more for families with older children or couples. If you are looking for more of a "resort " feel this is not the place.
