“good food, must go as a group to make it worthwhile....”
Reviewed July 12, 2008

Good food, its easy to fill up on the delicious bread and parmesan cheese which comes out as an appetizer automatically, the pastas and seafood dishes are really quite good, very big...so I would suggest that a minimum of 4 go as we did once as 2 and it was a total waste!! The portions are very big so make it worthwhile and go when you are a small group. Worth it though and certainly on the forefront of the many great restaurants that are making their way into sleep Montauk....

“Mother has never had a Mother's Day meal like this before”
Reviewed May 26, 2008

I refer to the size of t he portions not to the cuisine, which was good and very tasty, nor the service which was excellent.

Being from England we are not used to North American portion sizes but having spent some time in Manhattan before coming to Long Island for a weekend break, thought that we had got accustomed to the size issue. We were wrong!

The Harvest leaves the others standing when it comes to magnitude - absolutely huge platefuls of steaming hot, flavoursome, well-cooked grub. Fortuneately, our Australian Waitress advised us to only order 2, starters and 2, mains between the 4 of us andeven then, and universally acknowledged as having healthy appetites, we couldn't clear our plates!

We enjoyed Mother's Day at The Harvest and the glorious sunset over the pond.

“Good for lage groups - not couples”
Reviewed October 5, 2007

As previously posted, this is not he place for couples - unless you both want exactly the same food. The waitress explained upon seating us that ALL menu items are meant to be shared by at least 2 people. This is ideal for a group of 6 or more - that way you can sample a bit of this, and a bit of that. Food is good, but concept is dumb.

“Awesome REAL food”
Reviewed September 20, 2007

Had excellent meals here my last two visits to Montauk, one in August and one last October. Had heard positive things about it from many friends. The menu featured such fresh seasonal choices, and three entrees was more than enough for our group of four. In fact, our waitress was very gracious when we reduced our entree order after becoming quite full on appetizers!

“Great fresh seafood, large portions”
Reviewed August 14, 2007

The locals raved about this restaurant and they are right.
I showed up without a reservation and was seated quickly at one of the outdoor tables. The service was prompt and cheerful. I ordered the Swordfish and it was served hot with fresh herbs. I will definitely return to this restaurant. Afterwards I went to Belly's the local snow cone stand on route 27 and had one of their ices, totally delicious. A real treat.
