“Mind-blowing Vacation Meal”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

I've eaten plenty of delicious meals in Mtk -- from Gosman's to South Edison to Moby Dick's -- but nothing came close to the meal at Dave's Grill. A reso is hard to come by here -- tip #1 to go early, just before 5pm, and wait on the patio until they open the doors at 5.30. The drink menu is more than beach-esque concoctions. Tip #2, to try the extra-old rum Old Fashioned, even if you're a whiskey aficionado. Don't go skippy on the food here as it's excellent, tip #3, from a calamari appetizer to the lobster roll to the famous flounder and chips, with an onion-potato crust. Dessert is a must, tip #4, the chocolate bag. I don't even like chocolate and it changed my life! Other menu standouts include the cioppino, stuffed lobster, and "Chinese" spare ribs (believe it or not, it's an app).

“Best place to eat in Montauk, NY”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

Found this place in the "On Montauk" free visitors guide. From the outside, it doesn't look like much but once you step inside, it was quite lovely with outdoor seating overlooking the fishing docks, and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visting in the Montauck area.

“DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS:”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

you want an absolutely incredible meal! Yes, their same day reservations policy is tricky, but if you want something bad enough, it's all worth it!
Excellent FOOD! Excellent Service! Excellent decor! Their cioppino is one of the most delicious meals I have ever eaten anywhere I've traveled across the globe!
You get what you pay for and at Dave's Grill you will get a culinary and sensory experience to last a long time!
Enjoy!

“Best Swordfish On The Planet!”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

Difficult to get a reservation, but definitely worth the effort. Great atmosphere / ambience. Nice waiting area / very comfortable. Julie is a very gracious host. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for here. DELICIOUS!!!

“Once in a life time”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

Can't understand the hype for this place. It's hard to get a reservation and expensive. And then to top it off, the food ranged from slightly above average to none too good. Throw in lots of attitude and poor service as well as inflexible and unaccommodating and it's a once in a life time experience.
