“A Nice Place to Visit but I wouldn't want to live there”

This is a lovely place but there is NO SERVICE. NO ROOM CHARGES. A glorified beach over priced motel in a beautiful location. Close to town with a nice pool and great chairs and EXPENSIVE drinks. Be careful not to get a room downstairs as there is no carpet and you get upstairs neighbors walking overhead all night!

Happy that you found it to be a lovely place. In a seasonal resort property like ours unfortunately room charges are a difficult service to offer as it requires a great deal of staff to manage it in a timely fashion. We have found most guests prefer to pay for additional services at the time of occurrence rather than at check-out which can slow down their departure.

With regard to the rooms we don’t have carpeting because the salt air from the nearby ocean tends to very quickly give carpeting a very damp musty smell that is difficult to keep clean and sanitary (you have only to stay at an Atlantic Ocean resort that has carpeting to see what I’m talking about). Our sleek wood floors (which by the way were way more expensive than carpet) allow us to offer our guests a fresh, sanitary pleasant room atmosphere.

That being said we have recently re-configuring some second floor rooms for lower occupancy to reduce the amount of guests who might be staying above you. Would love to have you back so you can check out the changes yourself.

It is a very good hotel. However I was highly dissapointed because of the fact that there was a construction going on nearby the pool while I was having rest. The noise was so annoying. I came all the way from manhattan and pay that amount of money to be able to listen the ambiance sound of the nature, to relax. Cutting the woods near the pool? C'mon guys, you could do better.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for the overall rating of our property following your short stay with us last June and despite the noise that you encountered on the morning next to your room.

I deeply apologize for this issue and only wished that you had notified us prior to your departure of the hotel so that we could have addressed this issue instantly.

Should you wish to visit us again during the month of September or next season, please contact me personally when making your reservation.

Thanks,

Amazing staff and service and amazing manager! We ran into a plumbing issue and our rooms overflowed with sewage. The manager, Alex, was quick to respond and really made our stay an enjoyable one. -Tyler Jaen

stayed at the Beach House last weekend! Wow!! A job well done right in the center of Montauk. The new boutique hotel TMBH as we call it offers beautiful rooms with great comfortable beds, after all you will need them at the end of a long day in MTK. The location is great, you are in the middle of town with a 5 minutes walk to the nearest beach. The property itself has 2 great pools surrounded by very comfortable and beautifully designed day beds with great service. we were seating around the pool making new friends while enjoying a sip of their great white sangria and listing to a DJ playing fantastic music. they offer a small but great lunch menu as well. The pool Party ends early evening which is perfect, the place sets into a tranquility mode around the bar where you can plan your night activities. great restaurants are close by and getting a cab is easy. will definitely visit again!

Room Tip: No Fitness center.

So happy we were able to “WOW! you. We've poured our hearts and souls into creating a hotel experience that gets that kind of reaction.

But we’re not seating around – as I write this we are hard at work adding more enhancements to the property and services that will make your experience @TheMBH even better. Hope to see you in 2015.

First time in Montauk this weekend with a group of friends - we decided to splurge on one night at this place (~$500/night) instead of staying at a cheaper ($250/night) place for 2-night minimums that every other place seemed to require.

We spent most of the time relaxing by the pool, ordering expensive but tasty and refreshing cocktails. We enjoyed having a lounge-bed on a patio outside our Whitewater Garden room. They also let my friends ride some of the skateboards they used as decoration. Crowd seemed young, the type of people who will enjoy a DJ by the pool. Heated pool was great in May. Convenient location right in the middle of town, but also close to the beach.

Only complaint is that the floors creaked quite a bit a night above us so we could hear the people above us earlier. Oh and that it's super expensive, but I guess that's the price for a slice of upper-class life in Montauk.

Thank you for "splurging" with us. It sounds like you had a great time with your friends and enjoyed our custom skateboards.

We have recently re-configured some second floor rooms for lower occupancy to reduce the amount of guests who might be staying above you.

Anyway, thanks for the input and hope you can "splurge" with us again this May and check out the changes for 2015. :-)

We stayed just one night, and had a lovely time. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful with dinner and sunset drink ideas/reservations, and very personable. We were in one of the Moonlight Rooms, upstairs. It was super comfortable, chic, and quiet (we were there on a Sunday night). We were able to check in quite early, and so had a great day lounging to the vibe poolside, nice sandwiches and drinks at the bar or poolside, and a DJ playing a fairly low-key track---loved it!!! Pool was heated, and great for a dip.....we had been 2 nights in East Hampton prior to Montauk, and really loved this end of the beach. The beach is a very short, direct walk from the hotel, couldn't be any more convenient. We will definitely be back for a get-away!

The MBH is a great place to stay if you want to pay a little extra. It's a boutique hotel with a trendy vibe, pool parties with DJs (although MDW didn't seem to be too exciting). I found it extremely odd that there were no trash cans in the rooms. You cannot bring any outside alcohol because there is a bar onsite. However. the place is by far the nicest in the area. We had a great time!

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Montauk Beach House on your recent visit to Montauk and for posting this great review on Tripadvisor!

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the vibe of our hotel and the ambiance on our Saturday pool gathering. I apologize that you experienced inconsistency with our housekeeping service as we normally have a trash can in every room of the hotel. I only wish you had mentioned this during your stay, as we would have taken immediate care of your needs.

Please do let us know when your travel plans bring you back to Montauk. I would be delighted to assist with the details of your stay to ensure another wonderful experience at The Montauk Beach House.

Sincerely.
