i stayed at Montauk Manor a few years ago with my family and we stayed in a suite. It was nice enough then so I decided to come here with my boyfriend for a summer weekend getaway. It is not exactly like I remember, to say the least. It cost us about $1,000 for three nights, and our room is the equivalent of a room that you might find in a college dormitory.

Pros:
- There is a convenient gym facility
- The location of the hotel is nice
- We could have friends over because there is a lot of furniture
- The breakfast vouchers are a nice touch

Cons:
- The bed is uncomfortable, our backs hurt this morning!
- The TV is very small and can only be watched from the living room area, not from the bed
- The furniture is completely mismatched and most of the furniture is outdoor furniture that you might find at Walmart and they are using as a nightstand
- There is a CD player on the wall, but it looks broken and there are wires hanging down from it, which doesn't seem very safe to me
- You can't do anything in the hotel without handing in your room key first in exchange. Like you can't go to the pool without letting them take away your room key. You can't go to the gym without trading your room key for the gym key.

For the amount of money we paid, we won't be back.

They were very accommodating by giving us two extra beds for the same original price as our original reservation. The breakfast the next morning was good, nice service. The only thing is first thing when you walk into the front entrance it says a smoke FREE hotel. The entire 2nd floor smelled like cigarettes!!! That made me very upset considering it is a smoke FREE hotel? The next morning the first floor now smelled liked cigarettes, again I thought this was a smoke free Hotel!!!!!!!!!!! The only reason why I am giving this hotel a three is because they were accommodating at the last minute, to upgrade our room for the same price. Last thing I think this hotel should take more pride to enforce it's policies. So I would not go back until they enforce their smoke free policy more!!!!!

Room Tip: Avoid 2nd floor smells like cigarettes!!!!!!!!

we had heard such wonderful things about the Montauk Manor that we couldn't wait to stay , Sadly we were disappointed .we were told that we would be given a loft on the first floor. only to be given a third floor one bedroom studio the rooms were tiny the bathroom was so small your knees could touch the wall it rained one of the days so we stayed indoors, requiring that we watch TVTV so horrible the reception was horrible we heard noises to the left of us the right of us the hallways smelled of cigarette smoke .the front desk was rude ,we wound up leaving a day early and would never go back again I will say this much the entranceway ambience was very lovely

Just did a quick getaway with a friend and tried this place for the first time—after years of going to Montauk. It's not on the ocean, granted, but it is really very, very nice. We had a deluxe loft one bedroom that comfortably would sleep several people. Very cool. I would absolutely go back. It's a bit pricey in the peak of the season. But I believe in the spring and fall, this would be an ideal place to visit. Lots of charm from an entirely different era. Nicely designed. Outdoor and indoor pools, tennis court, and a small gym. Well groomed grounds. Restaurant on the premises, and a friendly staff, including young people from various countries working for the summer. Regular Montauk travelers should try this charming location! It's on the quiet side of Montauk, up on a hill. Lovely views. They even provide shuttle services to the Lighthouse and other locations.

Room Tip: Check out the variety of rooms carefully before choosing. They have interesting options.

Stayed here for business. Had a small duplex on the first floor - very clean if dated with an 80's vibe that is in sharp contrast to the Tudor exterior and lobby. Narrow steep stairs to the bed in the upstairs loft and a basic decor bathroom. Nice toiletries including makeup removal wipes were a nice touch. Would have been better if there was a tv in the bedroom rather than just downstairs. Plenty of room for one, would have been a bit crowded for 2. Rooms vary greatly as some in our group had 3 TVs! Ask to see the room before unpacking- rooms on the topp floor can have a water view. Biggest downside is the location of the parking lot which is too far away in pouring rain when lugging a suitcase. Never stayed in a place that charges $5 if you don't return the room keycard and makes you return the tv and dvd remotes to the front desk in a plastic bag. Can' t comment on value as I am not aware of the room chagre negotiated but properties in Montauk are known for being overpriced due to location- not nearly as nice as a Marriott but a better choice than the many basic motels in the area.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights, early June. We loved the atmosphere of the hotel. Everything was clean, service great, front desk personnel very pleasant and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the view spectacular. We came by train, so the shuttle service (Patrick) was great. We will definitely return and next time ask for a room with a view of the water.
