Been here many, many times in my life. Just this summer we returned again. There's a fee for parking but worth it. Be prepared for a full day of relaxing and learning. There's a fee for going into the lighthouse. I have done it once and the view from above is heavenly. It was our first president George Washington who commissioned this lighthouse in the late 1700s. Much of the shopre has been claimed by the sea but in recent years there have been supporting suppliments to help keep erosion factor to a minimum.
There's a small beach restaurant with OK fare. Nothing great. The walks along the rocky coast are wonderful on a nice day.
Very important. in that same area is Camp hero, another State Park that has an interesting history being a secret place for our govenment during wwII and the cold war. It's right there, but easy to miss. Ask the toll guy about it and for two for better rates.
