Have been going for years but hadn't been in some time. Excellent and authentic French food, good wine selection and overall a lovely evening. Love this place!

Once again had an excellent meal. Had artichokes for starters and then duck 2 ways as the main; both excellent. They allowed us to bring our own wine ( sentimental value label!) Only 2 small downsides were that the expresso machine was "down" the night we were there and the creme brulee had an overthick and premade topping but the other desserts were great

the service was very attentive and I loved the duck "duo" - roasted duck plus a confit...nice wine list too. Prices on the high side but lovely food, with local and really fresh ingredients.

My wife and I live near Albany, NY, a great area to raise a family, but decidedly not the restaurant capital of America. So we often look elsewhere for restaurants to satisfy our palettes. We love the food in New York City and in Boston, but of course they're too far for a day trip. More and more often we find ourselves turning to the Hudson Valley for interesting alternatives.

Every year, for many years now, we've looked to the Hudson Valley to celebrate our anniversary. This past weekend was our 38th, and it was no exception. For the last several years we have gone to the CIA, and we always enjoy ourselves there. But this time we went to Cafe les Baux, to which we had been once previously, and once again enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Cafe les Baux is a very informal French bistro with good food, excellent service and a laid back ambience that was perfect for our day in the Hudson Valley. When we arrived at Noon there were only a few other diners, but by the time we left, almost two hours later, the place was full.

We started with a glass of champaign to toast our 38 years together. The Mrs and I then shared a fruit and cheese plate with about a half dozen different cheeses, some grapes and a few other fruit items. The cheese was outstanding, but the fruit was only mediocre. For our main course my better half had mussels and frites. The mussels were as tender as any I've ever had, and the frites to die for. I had the soft shell crab which was served on what I would call a linguini primavera. Excellent. For dessert we had coffee ice cream with caramel and whipped cream. The ice cream was ok, but not great and the caramel insufficient. But all in all, an excellent meal and a great way to celebrate a wonderful marriage. In addition, the servers were friendly and attentive, and even helped with pictures to commemorate the occasion.

After lunch we headed over to Innesfree Gardens for a satisfying hour long stroll. Innesfree is only a few minutes from Millbrook, and we highly recommend it. And we'll definitely return to Cafe les Baux.

Consistent , yes. The food is always well prepared but I've been going there for YEARS and the menu
hasn't evolved.
Biggest complaint, however , is that the tables are so close together that you can't have a private conversation.
Fine, if you're a tourist and you'll never see the diners again.....but if a local, it's hard to be on a date without hearing the neighbors' gossip.
