Stayed the last night of a cross country trip with my dog. Inexpensive, pet-friendly and good ratings. I left with the same opinion.
Staff was very friendly and got me checked in quickly. Yes. The room is "compact" but with a name like "Microtel" that's to be expected. I agree that there aren't a lot of places to put things but it's all logically laid out and the place is clean and quiet.
I found it very handy that there are four or five restaurants adjoining the parking lot or across the street. Nothing five star but they cover what most are looking for. Breakfast in the morning was what is becoming standard hotel fare for a "free breakfast" but was lacking in a main course like eggs or a waffle machine. I don't see toaster waffles as a main course. But there are a hundred great New York diners in the area famous for their breakfast.
Overall very good stay. Pet friendly including plenty of room for a walk.More
