The guy who wrote the last two comments was pretty dead on with most comments especially the cheers one, lol except u go up a ramp instead of downstairs, which is way safer if you've had a couple...j/k ;)... it's a great place to go to just unwind, put some tunes on the jukebox , order some barfood and a cold one and enjoy not having to yell for order or getting knocked into because it's packed... well th-sat nights u may find it busier with karaoke Fri. There is a dancing pole which leads to fun and sometimes hilarity! The bartenders enjoy laughing and conversation and it's just a great overall atmosphere. Oh, and for the smokers there's an enclosed smoking room that leads to a front porch which is great for all seasons! love this place!

About every six months or so, I stop into this place for a drink and a quick "hot-dog style" meal. That was the case this week, and I found that not much had changed, except that they added a new string of Christmas lights to the front of the wet bar area. Everything else is unchanged. The drinks here are good and they are cheap. The food is still the standard bar fare, with at least one special on every day of the week; clams, or fish fry, or something similar. One of their better dishes is the pile of clams they'll delivery to your seat at the bar; always hot and juicy!

The rest of the place is taken up by a pool table, dart machines and the ubiquitous juke box. The bar tenders (all women) are nice and will take care of your orders promptly. This is a good place to meet for a drink, but I probably would go elsewhere if I wanted a really good meal.

Poor Boys is a quiet place set on the side of the road in Middleport, NY. On any given day you can expect to find a handful of folks enjoying a beer and a sandwich, but nothing fancier. Most of the food on the menu is either fried, or grilled, so don't expect anything fancy. It is a place though where you can relax with friends and trade comments and opinions with the local revelers.

The attractions are pretty much the same as most bars; a pool table and some darts boards keep the juke box company. Strings of Christmas lights are lit up all year long, and a wallpapering of signed dollar bills grace the back of the bar.

The bartenders in Poor Boys have, for the most part, worked there forever and know all the patrons. Like I said, this is "Cheers" without the fancy bar. It's fun, and I will come back to meet my friends.
