We have stayed @ various times @ the Melville Marriott for either pleasure or business.In either case, it has always been an enjoyable stay. The Hotel Management and Staff are a cut above and we have always been impressed with their personal charm,sincerity and professionalism. They always have done their best to ensure the best visit possible and they have never let us down.
On our last two visits, I especially would like to applaud:
1] Susan: Restaurant Manager
2] Marie,Adrianna and Corine in the Hotel restaurant
3] Winston: Pool Manager
4] Alison : Front Desk
5] Carlos,Bar Manager and Ahmet,staff

The hotel itself has very nice rooms, that are very comfortable, spacious. The fitness room is perfect for a quality workout and clean. The indoor pool is perfect for the children, although they need to warm up the water a bit.
Bar menu is good, with excellent selection/price for the kids meals. Although a bar atmosphere, its location lends itself to be child friendly with wide screen TV's and easy access to the lobby area.Crayons and drawing paper are also provided.

We look foward to our next visit.

As soon as I arrived, Sean was ready to help me, His Bright Smile, Clean Cut, Great Attitude & Friendly Service. He was on point, helped me with EVERYTHING I COULD ASK FOR. HONESTLY, I must say
Sean is the only reason I would stay here again... This gentleman deserves Employee of Month, If Offered...
I will stand by it, 110%
As far as the bar, it took not kidding 48 minutes for appetizers, now I know working in the industry it should take 6-8 minutes MAX...??
Maybe it was a little crowded, but the bar staff didnt even mention anything. Room service was GREAT, On Time!!

Stayed here when we went to visit friends on Long Island, and it was a pleasant stay, but nothing outstanding. The location is convenient to the expressway and to most of Western Suffolk, but you are basically staying in an office park. You can tell once you enter the hotel that it's a bit dated decor wise and there are signs of accompanying wear and tear (i.e. chipped paint, worn carpet, etc). There are some elements of renovation and the room itself was a bit more updated with a standard lower-end hotel layout. We stayed on the 2nd floor and the odd part of the room was that the wall opposite the entrance was actually a wall of glass with a sliding door that opened up (but could be locked!) to a carpeted walkway that anyone could walk by. I personally didn't feel unsafe because of it, but for people who are more concerned about potential safety issues, something to consider. Or to at least request a room where that is not the case. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, but the staff seemed very nice.

Overall, this was an affordable, decent option if you need to be at this location for convenience and don't plan on spending an extended amount of time at the hotel.

Stayed here while visiting family this weekend. Room was spacious, well-lit, but oddly, had no dresser for clothes. Only a small cabinet under the TV with 3 drawers - weird. This hotel is quite large, and a small complaint would be that our room was so far from the elevators. We came and went a number of times, and it would have been nicer to be closer to the only bank of elevators..... Convenient location for us, and where we needed to be.

Would have been nice if the drinks at the bar were a BIT cheaper, too - one round cost us $25, $30 with tip, so that was all we had - would have liked two..............

Stayed at this Marriott this past weekend while in town for a wedding. The staff was very friendly and helpful (even closed the back of my dress for me since I was flying solo for this one!), even calling to check in to make sure everything was okay with the room once I had gotten settled.

The room was fine, but a little dark. I always wish there were white bulbs instead of yellow in these rooms, would make it so much brighter. The bed was very comfortable and I slept like a rock for the 6 hours I got to use it.

My biggest complaint is that WiFi is not free here. $12.95 is very steep to pay for just 24 hours of access (and is more than 10% of the cost of renting the room!). WiFi is free in most hotels and airports these days (and on Amtrak) and even in the smaller airports (like the one I flew out of for this trip) where they do still charge for WiFi the cost is only $4.95 for the day. I would think Marriott being such a large chain would be able to offer a more competitive internet rate for something that is becoming a standard amenity.

This hotel is one of the easiest hotels on long island to access. It's right off I-495 at Exit 49.
The hotel rooms are spacious but they only offer 2 double beds instead of 2 queens if you are looking to get more people in one room. Having one king in the room left us with lots of space.

All of hte ameneties are up to date. The room has lots of power outlets by the desk and bed so you aren't scrambling to charge your stuff. We found the staff to be very helpful and always asking us if they could help. There was a little wait at check in but the staff quickly offered water or apple cider while we waited and the desk staff moved through check in quickly.

There's very little else near the hotel other than a business park - hard to even find a gas station.

The room service was fast and the breakfast buffet had a good selection with fresh omeletes or waffles on demand. We found a good deal and it was worth the extra 5 minutes west on the highway.
