“Not conventional spanish tapas more European mix but very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

Very good selection of various European meats and cheeses, all in a very nice setting with amazing service. It is one of these places where it is a pleasure to just chat, drink some wine and eat some good nibbles. Strongly recommended!

“Date Night!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

Perfect place for a date! Wine & Tapas! We had the Spainish Cheese Board with a fantastic selection of cured meats, jamon, olives, almonds and four different types of cheese. Service is excellent! Food is prepared right before your eyes in an authentic Tapas Style! Staff is knowledgeable and perfect place for a date!

“Europe on Long Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

I can not HIGHLY recommend this place enough. I'm so glad I found Salumi (thanks, Trip Advisor!) and I have been back multiple times to an equally amazing experience.

Salumi has a very cozy atmosphere. The service is impeccable. The owner and staff clearly take great pride in the restaurant and are happy to not only share their favorites and recommendations with you, but make you feel welcome and allow you to stay for hours!

What is even more impressive is the food. It is to DIE for. I will order a couple (3-4) tapas and usually a cheese/meat plate... I think you get 3 choices for $16 which is what I usually order. Best cheeses I've ever had- creamy, decadent and leaving you only wanting more. Also try the prosciutto, hot chorizo. They also had chicken liver pate for a limited time- unbelievably good.

I think my favorite tapa so far has been the burrata. The beautiful plate came with a hunk of mozzarella cheese (fluffiest and creamiest I've ever had) atop gorgeous greens, beets and figs. I wish I could even fathom how to make cheese like that.

Other great tapas include the empanadas (delicious fillings change week to week), pork belly, salmon. The tapas do change often enough. Also, be daring and adventurous! GET THE BONE MARROW! It's not much "meat" per se, but the onion jam makes it all the worth.

Make sure to leave room for the melted chocolate fondue dessert.

In essence, excellent. One of my favorites on LI for a date, girls night out, relaxing lunch.

“Amazing tapas and great wine list”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

For starters the pork belly bocadillo had a magnitude of different textures it was surprisingly delicious. The biggest surprise was that they placed thinly sliced lime which gave a good citrusy crunch that complimented the clinantro well. The special tapas dish for the day was a smokey salmon tartar with a citrus salad. Other highlights were the Manchego cheese, daffinois and the prosuitto. And of course the star was the bone marrow accompanied by onion jam and bread. This was my first marrow experience and I would reccommend to the pickiest eater. It was like melted butter on the bread. Skip the sangria too many other wine to enjoy. And skip the patatas bravas it was bland and not authentic.

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2012

I love salumi!! Not many wonderful places to eat in this neighbor so I love having this place up the road.. Great food- bone marrow to die for! Great wine-not sure what wine to drink? They let you sample. Desserts- delish! Small, rustic, great vibe inside, and wonderful staff make me return over and over.
