We planned our drive to visit and eat lunch at Mahebourg market, sea front walk then to the biscuiterie Rault for a cup of tea then back in town for the lovely Mahebourg museum and finishing at Blue Bay Beach.
It's true that it's not easy to find, from Mahebourg after the bridge, there is a little sign available , just try one way street and very narrow road going in residential area to the property at the end !
The Biscuiterie is fabulous and so charming ! We loved the peaceful and laid back setting. Meeting a small group of tourists alike. It felt intimate , very interesting and we loved the tasting of biscuits with tea in the ground of the property under the shade. Biscuits are very dry so you need your tea ! Notice the lady who does all the packing by hand still does not wear gloves !
The biscuits are very very dry and are of an acquired taste, however, we all loved the experience.

Despite the fact that we got lost on the way here, we were extremely pleased that we didn't give up. It was a really lovely experience - a little slice of authentic Mauritius. We arrived at around noon and expected the tours to be over by then but we were offered a tour and others who arrived later were also taken around. You are warmly welcomed and the biscuit making process is explained from start to finish whilst you are shown around the small, traditional family 'factory'. It was fascinating. The best part is that if you have paid for this option, you also get a tasting of all the different flavours, together with a drink (tea, coffee, water or fruit juice). It was enjoyable to sit with other travellers and share stories whilst having the refreshments. It is a special bonus that the biscuits are gluten free, being made from manioc, and we bought several packets to bring home (but gave in and ate some during the holiday). We later realised that if we had driven in from Mahebourg, it would have been much easier to find! There is free parking and toilets available. This trip is a fond memory of our time in Mauritius and we would strongly recommend it.

I bought some of the biscuits last year and liked them... So this year i decided to visit the factory. The biscuuts are made of Manioc and all is done manually. After the visit i could taste the various flavours. I bought one pack of each favour. I can definitely recommend!

Nice experience: a short visit of the little factory, and a tasting of the biscuits and gallets. A short walk after the bridge and then you have to follow the signals of the factory
An experience of 40' including the tasting
