We decided to break our trip to Europe by stopping off in Mauritius, so we had about 5 days at Preskil on the way out and 3 days on the way back. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful, the food was good, the facilities were great and we loved it.

Room Tip: Rooms we stayed in were really quiet at night, and none are far from the beach.

We had the pleasure of staying at Le Preskil from September 28 - October 5, 2012. After much research on the internet to try and find the ideal place for a romantic breakaway and looking at several properties we ended up at Le Priskil. From the time we arrived we were impressed by the hospitality starting with the relaxed check in and welcome drink. The staff were always friendly and our rooms excellent. I would recommend staying at this hotel to anyone.

There was a minor incident at the spa where my partner and I had a treatment but it was sorted out by the staff and management to our satisfaction going even beyond expectation to ensure everything was ok.

The only drawback for us was the high liquor prices at the hotel but we found a convenience store within close walking distance. We were also a little disappointed that there was an up charge for eating dinner at any of the other restaurants if you were on the half board package but the overall quality from the food buffet was very good.

Thank you very much Le Preskil for making our holiday a memorable one.

Its a great choice for many reasons. The location is perfect and idyllic. Menu changes daily with different themed cuisine and the quality was excellent. Staff were both friendly and wanted to help. Lots of free activities to do from water skis, kayaks, glass bottomed boats, tennis, sauna, steam room, table tennis, intoduction into scuba diving and lots lots more.
Our room was just perfect in having facilities that you would have to pay a huge cost at home and the cleaning staff were excellent. Yes the mini bar is a bit expensive but thats your choice to use. Around the resort the grounds are kept perfectly and the number of staff that are employed shows in the way this resort is kept and run. The resort is on its own small island and about a 25 minute walk into Mahebourg or an inexpensive taxi journey. There is a supermarket about 15 minutes walk away if you are want to keep costs to a minimum for drinks.
We would thoroughly recommend Preskil and dont forget that the temperatures may not seem high at 30 degrees but the UV intensity is much greater than the UK.

Room Tip: The delux penthouses are worth the premium.

This was the best 7 day holiday i ever experienced in my life. I celebrated my 10 year wedding anniversary like a bomb ! Best ever..- i cud go on and on , on how lovely le preskil is , but then that will take me like forever. The catamaran cruise was super awesome, the guys and captain was so entertaining, bbq on boat, unlimited drinks was a wow! Overall the boat cruise was phenominal stuff. Food at the hotel was plentiful, too much infact ! They cater for everyone around the world, different themes different night. With exciting entertainment at night. The water sports are so much too do, i felt i needed more days in the hotel. Staff and superb friend service with a smile. Loved every minute spent there.

We chose Le Preskil for our honeymoon early September for 11 nights.. it's stunning!
The moment we arrived around 11am we were greeted with fruit cocktails, the staff very polite & helpful when checking us in, slight down fall we couldnt go into our room until 2pm so we had to wonder around in travel clothes until it was ready. Our suitcases were taken and stored in a locked room for the duration, and once our room was ready, we were shown there and our cases were brought shortly afterwards. Wow! We had a prestige cottage, it was spacious, clean and the view was stunning! Literally open the patio doors, good sized patio, 8 feet or so of grass and the white sand started (man made beach) palm trees dotted around, the turquoise ocean gently rolled up to that, it was beautiful. We travelled with our 3 year old, so having a ground floor room as well was much better suited.
Being honeymooners we were left some Le Preskil t-shirts, with 'just married' written on the back which were arranged to look like swans and left on the bed, which was very nice, they offered a free candle lit meal which we could have either on our patio, by the ocean in a gazebo, or on the beach. There was also a free massage each waiting for us at at the resort spa, which was fantastic..
The drinks in the mini bar in the room are quiet expensive, we actually got a taxi to the local supermarket, it's not far to walk but there is no pavements and with our little one thought it would be safer that way and it costs next to nothing. We stocked up our fridge with our own drinks, it's much cheaper than the hotel prices.
The weather, windy pretty much every day, we had one complete day of blustery rain and wind and stayed in our room, we had 2/3 days of blistering sunshine and the rest were all cloudy and showery. Always warm in the day, but in the evening it was very windy most nights and raining, torrential sometimes and a little chilly.
The food, we opted for half board which was okay, the breakfast buffet every morning catered for everyone, the bread was delicious, pastries same, the fried breakfast was okay, the bacon is streaky, eggs cooked fresh any way you want them, chicken sausages, not keen, the baked beans had onions mixed in, so the flavour wasn't as we expected and for my hubby who loves them, he didn't touch them or our entire stay because of this. Waiters, waitresses were all great and very helpful. Tea coffee or hot chocolate is offered.
The evening meals are not served until 7pm, and our 3 year old was ready for bed not long after arriving to eat, but The pizza served every night was freshly made and delicious! Water is offered once seated, this is chargeable, and its quite pricy too.
We didn't eat in the tapas bar in the evening, but they sometimes offered free mini pizzas to who ever was on the beach was again delicious. The beach boys wondered to and fro all day collecting drinks orders, and a security guard patrolled the beach daily.
Charka's is amazing! Their steak is the best I've had by far. I had fillet with Chips and a separate small jug of mushroom sauce. Fantastic, we ate twice there. Being half board we had to pay extra to eat there, which we didn't mind at all because it was so good.
The staff were all very friendly and couldn't help you enough with what ever you needed assistance with.
The taxi's wait outside the resort, and they are much cheaper than if the hotel arranged it for you. they are very reasonable & helpful whether you just want to pop up to the supermarket or have them take you our for half a day etc.
The boat house offers you to try water skiing & wind surfing free. Theres also a glass bottomed boat which was great. the ocean is not very deep and the coral is amazing to see as well as the fish and star fishes. They go out so far and drop the anchor, for those who want the opportunity to get their snorkel equipment on and jump in for a swim its there, for those who don't they just wait on the boat.
It is very much a romantic resort, couples & honeymooners. There were about 6 weddings performed on the beach, gazebo or gardens during our stay that we saw. Their photos will be amazing!
So if you are looking for paradise look no further but check into the weather if travelling in September as we are not sure if its the norm for this time of month or a one off.

Great base for enjoying the south of the Island, good snorkell and dive options on the door step. Clean and friendly. Food is of a very good standard and varied. Loved it. We stayed full board as we were only here for 3 nights - definitely worth it and the inclusive drinks and food were very varied and good quality. Ignore the comments about Hawkers, there are two or three but they are very polite and respectful if you don't want to look or buy anything.
