Description: Il Laghetto is set against beautiful Lake Mahopac, a hidden gem that Mahopacian's hold close to their hearts. The lake is for many the reason why they are here and why they stay. The location is a definite attraction that most flock to in warmer months. Il Laghetto's name is Italian for "little lake". Set on the water, il Laghetto's location makes it ideal for a Seafood focused menu. A Raw Bar with Oyster offerings, Clams, Lobster, Crab and more is open year round. The menu itself is highly focused on fish but don't deny the 16oz Steak Au Poivre. "Specials" are offered weekends and will focus on other meat options as well. Il Laghetto is open all year and we encourage people to see the lake for it's beauty through all seasons

Consistently great food. The popcorn is addictive and you don't get the "bread regrets" after eating it-it's a great idea. Servers have always been friendly and attentive. The menu and the food is great. This past winter/spring they had a crispy pork shank on their menu that you just can't get out of your mind - perfect accompaniments too.

It was wonderful sitting by the lake on this perfect day!! That's why overall was given a 4. The food is pricey, the service so so as is the menu. The location is the only reason I would return. As noted before, we had to ask for salt and pepper and for lemon three times

we are locals and decided to try this place, since it was a beautiful sunny summer day and was under newer management than we experienced.
passes off as high ticket restaurant when actually, it is not. the restaurant offers a nice view of Mahopac Lake and has inside and outside dining.
we went to the Sunday brunch, o/s dining and weren't impressed. this is the 3rd owner in the years it has been in business. the menu offered the usual brunch items, but don't expect to get that free mimosa or bloody mary with the brunch, you pay extra:(
we ordered the hanger steak with eggs and potatoes. the steak was served with some kind of steak sauce and was not very tender. the potatoes were shoe string and could only be eaten with your fingers. we had to ask for s&p and ketchup...should of been on the table.....and the ambient music was awful. it was for late 20 and 30 year olds at a beach bar and not conducive to brunch, ingesting the meal and enjoying the view. granted i mentioned to the hostess as we were leaving and she apologized, but i think she was intimidated with the "younger" staff as she told us that prior her selection for music at brunch was Celine Dion, but got flack from the younger staff for her choice of music. she now gives them the ok at what music to play...another duh! the best experience was our server Sergio...attentive and informative. would we go back....nah, we'll wait for the next owner to come along.

My friend and I sat dockside and had a lovely brunch. Truffled oil popcorn on the tables were great nibbles. I love their steak sandwich and my friend had several appetizers instead. Wonderful ambience and great service!

We had an awful experience at the Terrace Club. They served my daughter salad with a fly on the plate. She found it really disgusting, so they brought her a new plate of salad, and that too had a small fly tucked in one of the lettuce leaves. After that, she basically abandoned the salad, and it pretty much disgusted her for the entire meal. The waitress *lied* to us when we were ordering. She said that the salad was part of the meal, but there was actually an extra charge for the salads. They took off the charge for the salad because of the terrible experience of not one but *two* plates of salad with flies in them, but that was the only adjustment they made. The restaurant location is nice (with a view of the water), but that is the only positive aspect of the restaurant. If you like eating flies, by all means, go to the Terrace Club. If you want a decent restaurant that cares about its customers, then I would strongly suggest going to a different restaurant.
