“Best Brunch in the North Country”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013

Tug Hill Vineyards presents a brunch buffet every Sunday during the Spring, Summer and Fall. They have three seatings (10:00, 11:30 & 1:00), so reservations are pretty important. I always try for either of the later two seatings because the winery cannot serve you alcohol before noon and what's Sunday brunch at a winery without a mimosa or bloody mary? The buffet always features a number of breakfast and lunch foods as well as fresh salads, fruits and desserts. The food is plentiful and truly delicious. Ask to be seated on the porch when you make your reservations!

The tasting room and gift shop are lovely, but can get a bit crowded at times. The grounds are beautiful and the view stretches all the way to the foothills of the Adirondacks.

“Love it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

I absolutely love this vineyard. We go to the brunch several times throughout the season, and the food is always delicious. The staff is very good about replenishing the food when it gets low. We make a reservation and sit on the covered porch. The view is just gorgeous.

They have berry picking all season. I have never picked the blueberries, but we get raspberries a couple time a year.

The wine is pretty good. I like drier wine and they have a couple that fit the bill. Prices are pretty average for the area wineries.

We will continue to visit The Tug Hill Vineyards over and over again.

“Cool place, horrible brunch”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2012

I recently went with family and friends for brunch at THV. What a disappointment! The grounds and facilities are great. They're beautiful, clean, the staff is friendly.... but please, don't go for brunch.

I've heard good things about THV for the tastings and the events they hold there, but this review is for the BRUNCH ONLY.

We ended up leaving brunch and heading directly for lunch, as we were ALL dissatisfied with our brunch.

The eggs were cold and old, and hard, the chicken curry looked like it was made 3 weeks ago, the girl serving us (we all had mimosas) was under 18, so had to have someone else bring them to us (she didn't know what was IN a mimosa, let alone what brand of champagne was going into ours!)

There aren't any traditional foods, ie: belgian waffles, filet, custom omelettes etc... it's just a short buffet line of sub-par foods. The desserts were okay, but not home-made (perhaps with the exception of the creme brulee, which was made in a huge brownie pan, and since it wasn't made to order, bland and cold.

The fruit selection was nice, and fresh!

Better off going to McDonalds for breakfast and then Jebs or ANYWHERE else for lunch. This is a brunch you're better off skipping.

“Very good experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

I wanted to come here as part of my family settled a few miles from the location and farmed for a century but did not grow grapes. The vines as we drove in prove that they are a viable crop. We parked and enjoyed the view over the Black River Valley as we walked into the tasting room. We were delighted with the facilities. The personnel were friendly and knowledgeable we enjoyed our visit and left with a half a dozen bottles which we have been enjoying. Well done, it is worth the time to explore and sample the wares.
