Just across the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge which leads right into the city is this hidden gem. Its relaxed and unique checkin process was a breeze and the views were amazing. The rooftop deck looks right into the NY cityscape, has plush deck chairs for tanning and all day free bottled water during summer, although there is no pool. They featured a nice pastry spread in the modern contemporary lobby in the mornings and fresh espresso bar for purchase all day. Dogs are welcome and I would definitely recommend using a third party website to book with a deal.

Very shady guy who was not of professional appearance checked us in. He didn't explain the amenities. Waited 30 min for ice and ended up getting it myself downstairs. Waited 40 min for wine glasses. Horrible service. They don't care about the guest and it is blatantly obvious. Beautiful rooms though. Architecture is amazing. Neighborhood is safe. Hotel is only a few blocks from the N train (get to midtown in 10 min). Decent view from balconies. Great takeout and delivery in the area. When I made the reservation I demanded a high floor otherwise I wouldn't want to book it. The woman on the phone said my request would be honored yet they put me on the 5th floor. So if they tell you something don't always believe it. If I stayed here again, it would be for the design of the hotel...certainly not the service or hospitality (which was non existent).

Stayed for a weekend of sporting events. Room was clean and the windows were cool bit no view. They should indeed assign all upper rooms first.
Four flaws.
1. You must stand in the shower to turn it on so you get cold water rush.
2. Only one nightstand.
3. No space for toiletries bag.
4. With the open shower design the floor gets fully soaked.

The rooftop had a great view but the bar was not yet open for business.

The staff were friendly and helpful.
