High marks for a place I only came to for the first time. I had to figure out how the place works first. Luckily, a friendly table of customers filled us in; go straight to the back where the fresh fish is laid out, bag it, pay for it and they write up a receipt/order with your name on it. If it's busy, like it was on this Friday night around 7pm, wait time is over 30 minutes. You wait outside since inside the tables are packed and they'll call you when a table with your order is ready.
Food is GREAT! Octopus was one of the best I've had, simply grilled. Same for our calamari and swordfish. A large platter of mussels in red tomato sauce was superb. I could've eaten an entire loaf of their toasted bread with the sauce, but I didn't. Entire meal, lots of food, after all, we picked the amount, was $62 including a nice Greek salad for 2, and tax, paid at the register. I left a nice tip for the friendly and helpful waitstaff.
Food and plates are ceramic but utensil are plastic. It's BYOB, but if you forget to bring alcohol, the deli is 2 blocks away and the liquor store is 3 blocks away under the elevated subway train station. Friendly, bustling, fun atmosphere. Absolutely Worth the visit!
