“An excellent find”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

We walked in for a quick bite, only to be advised that everything is made fresh and our timeline was too short. The amazing aromas and atmosphere prompted us to plan a more leisurely dinner the next day. We were not disappointed! The service was excellent, very coordinated amongst the servers as the food came out. The menu and wine list are quite attractive. We chose not to have appetizers, and the server offered house salad gratis to accommodate the cook time on the risotto dish. The risotto was cooked to perfection. The lobster ravioli were the perfect thickness and lovely, accompanying scallops just done. Son's dish consumed before sampling could occur, but won great review from him. I thought the decor was quaint, but given the great service and quality (and value) of the food, who cares?!

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed October 18, 2013 via mobile

Not your run of the mill restaurat. You wouldn't even know it was a restaurant as you walked by. Yes the decor could use an update, but you really go there for the food. The owners are always there. Gerri, the waitress always remembers your name & is very friendly. They always have great specials & will prepare your food anyway you want. The Branzino is great! After your meal they have great coffee & cappacino with great little fresh cookies. I have been here over a dozen times & never had a bad meal.

“Good food, extremely disorganized service”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

I spent today at this restaurant for a graduation. Although the food was tasty (monk fish, flounder, fagottini pasta) the service was so awful that it would keep me from going back. Drinks weren't refilled, dishes came out sporadically.
Decor is a little funky, but staff (when you saw them) are nice.

“Very nice”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

Food was reasonable and very nice, the place is a bit run down and needs some TLC as it appears very tired and really dated, however the waiting staff were friendly and reasonably efficient, although didn't now the menu very well when we asked questions. Food was good though.

“If you love Italy you will love this place”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

There are many Italian restaurants in NYC, but there are only few good ones. The Manducatis Rustica is one of the best ones. Even the last time I was in Tuscany (4 months ago) I didn't eat so well as yesterday in this restaurant.

The minestrone is made from fresh vegetables, perfectly spiced and served hot. Furthermore, they bring freshly made pizza bred immediately to the table. Waiters are very tentative, but not overly rushed (a nice mix between serving the US customers and having a lazy Italian attitude) and the atmosphere fits perfectly.

Additionally, they make real Neapolitan pizza (pizza napoletana) at this place, which are delightful. The Tiramisu is made like in Italy.

Very nice place! Will come back any time again.
