“Neat concept, food not quite there...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Came here to see MoMA PS1 exhibits, was hoping for M Wells experience as a bonus, as I had lamented the passing of the original M Wells...
The whole schoolroom motif was fitting, considering the location. The food was a mixed bag--split pea soup with sausage and pulled pork shoulder was fantastic--like lick the plate clean good--but other dishes, like the gravlax tart, were just average. I was hoping for a bone-marrow dish or a reinterpretation of some classic Quebecois dish like tourtiere, but NOPE! Montreal craft beer was fantastic, though! Wine selection looked respectable, but this was lunchtime, so maybe on a revisit....

“Not worth it”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

Don't know why this restaurant is so expensive. And the cafe just so so, it worth only 1 dollars but it cost 2.50. And the waiter's attitude just arrogant.
如果不是為了等MoMA PS1開門,真的沒有必要在這間餐廳用餐,食物很貴,並且還好,沒有值這個價錢,店員愛理不理的,沒有特別因素真的就不需要在此用餐。

“fun and delicious!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

Having been to the old M. Wells diner I was excited about this opening in the Museum of Modern Art PS 1 in Queens. Because the museum is located in an old elementary school, the theme is reflected in the restaurant as well. It's a small room filled with school desks all facing the front (kitchen). The blackboard holds the menu and the desks even have school supplies! Don't fear, this is no gimmick restaurant. The food is outstanding! Bone marrow and escargot, meat pies and beautifully prepared fish were highlights. We skipped dessert but they looked amazing. No reservations but you can put you name on a list and see the museum! A lot of fun!
