“Visiting NY”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

We were a family of 5 visiting NY for two days and wanted to live near Manhattan but not pay ridiculous amount of money. The place can be slightly difficult to find because of one way roads, but with GPS it's no problem. I can not say much about the neighbourhood as I didn't leave in the evening.

This place is only 3-4 minute walk away from the metro station. From the metro station the metro takes 20-25 minutes to go right into the middle of Manhattan. The trains from and to the metro station run pretty much through the night.

The room provides everything that you need: fridge, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, coffee machine and the hotel provides complementary basics eg toothbrush etc if you forget it. My room was on Floor 5 which gave a great view towards Manhattan. You just have to make sure your room is facing this way. Other reviews say that rooms above Floor 7 are even better.

Free internet but not free parking. However since the room price was cheaper than other hotels we just paid for the secure parking.

Free breakfast, although the breakfast area is slightly small so you may have to wait around fora table to clear. The earlier the better.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing Manhattan. The higher the floor, the better the view.

Well, it wasn't cheap. But it got us cheaper than any hotel in Manhattan, plus we were only a few stops away from it. Something that I really didn't like was that they threw away a perfectly (expensive) and complete bar shampoo away! Or maybe they took it... who knows.
Fluffy bed, space, clean bathroom.

A group of 6 stayed for a few nights here and it was one of the most comfortable stays at a hotel I have ever had.
The rooms were large and spacious. With well lit large bathrooms.
Easy to find, with the subway stop only a two minute walk away. Don't be apprehensive about the neighbourhood, it is actually quite quiet, an I felt comfortable walking along at night. 7 minute subway ride and you are smack bang in the middle of Manhattan. Although a little out of the way, it's perfect to escape the noise and huddle and bussle.
The breakfast they served complimentary was delicious and had a decent selection.
The staff were extremely helpful and full of great ideas for things to do and how to get there.
Shout out to Stephen, for beIng so patient and super nice with us, even after we hung out in the lobby for 2 hours waiting for our flight, he went above and beyond to make our stay awsome :)

Stayed for a couple nights in July this year, just around corner from Queensboro Bridge station, couple of stops to Rockefeller and downtown Manhattan, decent size room and neat bathroom. Reasonable breakfast to start your day, free wifi, would stay here again

One of the problems with staying in Manhattan is that you can't see it. Try for a room here with a view of the city. Long Island City is one of the up-and-coming neighborhoods: there was an art gallery opening up across from the hotel. True, there's not much to do in this neck of the woods, but it's a 5-minute walk to the subway.

Staff here is friendly, and the place is clean and tidy. It's a great cheap alternative to staying in the city.

Room Tip: Try for a room with a view! You can grab the F train into Queens. Stop at the 74th/Roosevelt stati...

The Rooms are clean, a bit small but hey, that's New York.

Breakfast was good, not to big, but good enough to start the day.

Location is ok, you have a 3 minutes walk to the Metro and Manhattan is just one stop away. It was very silent as the Hotel is in a small street with no through traffic. When you come home in the night, after a nice day in Manhattan, the neighborhood is a Little bit spooky, we were not 100% comfortable with it... but we are from Europe and I am not quiet sure, if we just overestimated it, as there was absolutely no Problem or anything similar.

The corridors very very cold, you nearly freeze on your way from and to the room, the AC seems to run on fullthrottle.
