“Good value”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

We stayed this past weekend here. While the furniture in the lobby looked a little worn, the free breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs & sausage, bagels, toast, cereal. It was only a few blocks from the Queensboro Plaza Subway station--easy walking and in 10 minutes you were in midtown Manhattan. Quiet room. Neighborhood on the upswing. Very pleasant and good value for your money.

Room Tip: I would ask for a view overlooking Manhattan.

Good hotel for a reasonably priced stay in NYC. In Queens but has excellent transport links using the metro that is a 2 minute walk away. Breakfast was good and did not have trouble finding a seat and overall would use this hotel again. The only negative is no parking but if you spend enough time you can find a space in the local area.

I have been in this hotel for vacation in the autumn season, is a very good place to be, you get a big and clean room, with plenty of space for your things, a very spacious bathroom, the location is just out of the manhattan island. though the queensboro bridge.

Room Tip: the higher the better

We were 5 days at this hotel and we find it okay there. It was clean, room was big, breakfast was okay.
Advantage: connection to public transport services (10min to Manhattan)
Disadvantage: traffic in the morning and the loudness

Stayed recently for two nights and following are the positives:

1. Room given had good coffee/tea machine which was functional and fast.
2. Room was provided with a microwave oven (first hotel out of 7 hotels used in US in last one month) which facilitates to heat up food bought from outside.
3. Bathroom had efficient and simple shower system as against complicated ones found at number of other higher end hotels.
4. Linen, towels were clean and number of towels provided.
5. Room was provided with a refrigerator so one can store medicines, eatables!
6. Breakfast was reasonably good (for the total money paid) with almost every thing available for all type of people. Don't miss sachet of honey in the rack if you like to eat honey in the morning breakfast !
7. You can leave your luggage by the side of front desk if need to after checking out.
8. A library/rack displaying the all around events in the city. A good metro map can also be obtained requesting the front desk personnel.
9. Lots of charging points in the room which was a pleasant surprise as this may be difficult even in some high end hotels.
10. Free wifi that works fast (but intermittently).

Negatives:
1. The king size bed was small and there was no bed cover. Cover of the quilt acted like a bed cover which was dark in color. A white quilt or blanket is what normally one expects.
2. The front desk though helping did not help in providing even free two hours beyond check out time (12.00 hrs) and can at best permitted only 30 extra min.
3. The parking is not there if you are having your own vehicles.
4. wifi goes off intermittently.

Overall a very pleasant experience despite being in outskirts (very well connected with metro system without much to walk). Pl. do follow the thumb rule of locking your most things and not leaving any valuables behind when not in the room!

Room Tip: You may carry a couple of tea sachet to your rooms as the breakfast desk have some good tea bags wit...

I had read numerous reviews on this property and all were correct: parking is only on the streets, there is no parking lot, beware of small signs indicating parking hours, tickets are $60.00; the sheets on the king size beds are not king sheets, they do not cover the mattress so at your foot end the mattress has no sheet covering it; the carpet is spotted; the room for our three nights was always clean. Next door is a gas station that offers many grocery items along with great sandwiches and deserts. The breakfast food is good, even has local bakery items such as hard rolls, donuts, and jelly filled and is kept stocked during breakfast. Half of the rooms offer view of the New York skyline. For the price, I feel the facility offered a good value.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the backside so you can see the New York skyline.

Don't be put off, by the locattion. A family of 4, with a wheelchair can do it. Local bus stops and trains very nearby, but advise the Q32 Queens plaza is your best bet, along with a metrocard.

Back to the hotel. You get a very comfortable bed, linen, and well appointed, with all the usual things, TV, full sized bathroom, very clean and fresh.

Views..well it's nothing special, you get all the views downtown Manhatten anyway.

Staff: 4/5 Courteous, pleasant, and knowledgable. But I suspect, that passing the time of day, with anecdotes, is not their speciaility. There's a well stocked tourist information rack, and an ATM.

Breakfast: Ignore the haters, it's on par for the price that you pay. Toast, bagels, doughnuts, cereal, hot and cold, there's something for everyone. Get up early before all the doughnuts go..or go downtown to Central Park and get your own breakfast. You're all big kids, they don't have to be your mom.

Overall, it hits above it's weight. A better alternative to paying Manhatten prices, but close enough to the action.

Slow golf clap for The Country Inn and Suites. Well done
