With a block away to the Queensboro Plaza subway station & just 2 stops into Manhattan, it was super convenient and an excellent way to save hotel money for shopping, eating & Broadway shows. Rooms were alright and it comes with breakfast and the very important free wifi access! As we had our 2 much older children with us, we got the king suite and used the sofa and rollaway bed to accommodate them. A bit of a squeeze but doable. Our room faced the street and the traffic noise woke us up on a few occasions but nothing major to complain about. Reception staff was helpful and helped us store our luggage until our night flight and helped us arrange the taxi service to JFK at a fixed fee. Only minor complaint was that the room cards had to be remagnetised a few times as after a while the door access readers could not read them properly. But overall, still thumbs up for good value and location!

Room Tip: Heard from one of the guests in the lift that the rear facing rooms have a view of manhattan (higher...

My boyfriend and I went to New York City two times and loved this hotel! Especially when you get a room with a view! The rooms are wonderful and spacious, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. Its location is great and allows you a good night sleep in the city that never sleeps. I would definitely go here again!!

Room Tip: Get a room with a view!!!!!

If your looking for a simple place to rest your head this place is OK. We had to cancel our hotel at another location and re-booked at this location. We discovered the bathroom was not clean and had to ask the cleaning crew to clean the tub to which they didn't do a great job. One of our towels had mouse dropping on it, luckily we brought extra towels/wash clothes of our own. The location is average as it is close to the NY subway.

The breakfast was included; however it was not appealing so we skipped it and opted to eat out.

The service was nice to us; however a phone call he was handling I could not say the same.

Overall we won't return due to the lack of cleanliness; however if your looking for a hotel room for a quick NY stay this would be OK.

This hotel is great if you plan on traveling via subway. It is a very short walk to the station and a very short ride to Manhattan. It is close enough to Manhattan that you can easily travel back and forth during the day to drop off shopping bags or take a break. The sofabed in our suite turned out to be a futon, apparantly double size instead of queen size. Breakfast was the exact same each day, with very few choices. Also consider this hotel if you are driving. You might get free parking on the street in front of the hotel, but the hotel does not have a free parking lot. The public parking lot nearby (across the street of the next-door gas station) is only $15 a day for cars and $20 for vans. Make sure to check your parking ticket-mine had been stamped with an arrival time about three hours earlier, and they tried to charge me for an extra day's parking.

I have stayed at this Country in 5 times and the quality of the experience has continued to fall. It appears the franchisee has chosen to milk as much profit from this location as possible by eliminating any maintance expenses.
I arrived on a Saturday and found my King bed was made with queen flat sheets that were not tucked in, when I called the desk they promised to send new sheets up. 45 minutes later a gentlemen from housekeeping arrived with more queen sheets and said that was all they had till 11:00 tomorrow. The bottom sheet extended 2" over the sides and of course made it impossible to get a good nights sleep.
The next morning I found the upholstered furniture to have nasty stains, the carpet was stained in many places, the grout in the bath was black in the walk area and there were cobwebs all around the curtains on the windows.
I took a note to the desk with these issues on Sunday morning and was assured they would be addressed.
The breakfast area was my next stop. The carpet on the hall leading to the breakfast area is so dirty they have placed a throw rug over it. The carpet in the breakfast area is just beyond filthy and the cabinets around the waffle maker remained covered in waffle batter from top to bottom for the entire 5 days I stayed. The chair seats are badly worn and they place a 55 gallon grey trash can on wheels in the breakfast area for trash. Not what I want to see when eating.
Upon arriving back on Sunday I found none of the issues had been addressed and they remained that way thru checkout 5 days later.
Each day my bed was made with Queen flat sheets that were not wide enough to be tucked in and each day I would leave a note for housekeeping to please use King sheets so they could be tucked in, but it never happened.
When I addressed my issues at checkout, I was given a "we don't really care" attitude.
When this location was new, it was great. I don't recommend it any longer and I will not return.

Our local friends booked this for us and we were really pleased overall. If you are looking for a hotel when visiting New York, but dont want to pay New York City prices, stay here. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, offering everything you need. Comfy and clean.

The subway is right at the end of the street and only a few stops from Times Square and all the main attractions. At only $2.50 a trip, its a much better option than paying to stay right in the city.

Breakfast is complimentary but not always great. Get there before 8am or there is little there. Its all self service and not always replenished. Still, a good start to stop a rumbly tummy before finding a cafe. Download the tripadvisor new york app, its very useful.
