... but unfortunately out of 5 days the room hasn't been done 3 times. We complained every single day and tried to get a compensation. They told us as we have paid already through our agency we have to complain there with the result that we got $50 debited to our credit-card. Ridiculous!!!

Went here for a girls nite out and a planned 1 nite stay. While the hotel from the outside is non-descript, once inside you appreciate it's attractiveness. Literally on the beach with open, rooftop bar and pool. The rooftop bar has very large windows and offers a panaramic view of the ocean, very much a South Beach feel to it. At nite, the bar turns into a club, complete with beautiful lighting-very pretty and good dancing. We had problems with the air conditioning and 2 out of 3 booked rooms had to be moved; desk kept sending up maintenance but nothing changed, so we were not happy having trying to get AC, then pick up and move. When I spoke to the nite manager, she had no sympathy BUT did upgrade one room to a suite to make up for it. Upon checkout the desk clerk asked how everything was and when I told him of the AC issues, believe it or not his response was "Well, we did have a long summer". Also, I had given the barmaid my credit card in advance so I could pick up the bar tab and when it came time to pay the bill, she let someone else pay!! Pretty pricey and I think they need to do much better on customer service.

My company requires us to stay here. We book at least 100 rooms per month. Last month, while checking in, I left my sunglasses on the front desk. They made no attempt to contact my room to get them back to me, although they knew whose they were. Fast forward one month. After eight contacts with the hotel, they finally tell me it is against their policy to mail lost items back. That would've been nice to know after one or two contacts with them. Every employee gave me the runaround, and non seemed to care about solving the issue. In addition to actually talking to employees on eight occasions, I left numerous messages, not one of which were ever returned. I had even made arrangements to have a colleague get the glasses, and the staff coulnd't make that happen either. Wow!

My wife and I stayed here and had a beautiful ocean view, the cocktail room is stylish and enjoyable. We had to leave a day earlier than the 3 nights we book for and they allowed us to go without penalty, very helpful! Only thing was noise between rooms could bother light sleepers.

In common with other reviews, we were guided to this hotel for an overnite stay involving a wedding in mid-August. Entering the lobby on midafternoon Saturday, it was immediately obvious that the A/C was not working. Up in the room, the same. We talked to another member of our party who had stayed the previous night, and the sliding door to the closet fell into the room.

Terrible, overpriced and completely inappropriate for the area. Under no circumstances stay here, even if you have to drive to the other side of the island and stay at the exceptional Marriott near Rosylyn. The worst, and no apology from management or staff when we paid our $330 bill the next morning.

Recently stayed here as it was convenient to a wedding nearby. It looks terrific and has a great location. The room itself was contemporary in it's styling but average in size if not a bit small. On the downside, it sticks out like a sore thumb. It's appearance, price, and attempts to be 'chic and trendy', are out of place in a working place town like Long Beach. It already had issues with solvency in the recent past and worked out a deal sometime last year. In my opinion it is way overpriced for where it is and what it's trying to be. Adding insult to injury, upon checking her account, my wife found a charge for $188 added to the original price of the room. When she called the hotel, she was told it was for "incidentals" but couldn't give any specifics. It was removed after quite a bit of complaining up the ladder. Would I stay again? Not a chance.

Room Tip: Beach side would be better.

Do not stay in this hotel. To start off they lost my reservation, obviously so annoying. Then my boyfriend and I arrived at 1 am after a late night and a friends wedding, and they gave us a room with a broken air conditioner unit. It took them 2 hrs to get us fans, and it was the worst sleep I've had in a long time. The rooms are average a best, and the beds are so uncomfortable I slept on top of the sheets without any pillows. The next morning, the manager claimed that she had NO IDEA, that they were having air conditioner problems in the hotel. Funnily enough, we then overheard may other guests complain about the same issues.

The only nice staff were the bartenders upstairs at the bar. We told them about our horrible stay and they were sympathetic to comp us a round of drinks. We had lunch and the food was just soso and our waiter was slow as molasses. This hotel knows NOTHING about customer service, and is way over priced. Save your money, take the train back to the city, because the Allegria is not worth it.
