We stopped on a quiet Monday afternoon for lunch at Dano's (pronounced Danyo's) along Seneca Lake just outside Lodi. It's a rather odd structure, but don't let that deter you, the food is wonderful. The meals are served tapas style (small plates). The bread to the spreads to the salads to the chicken sausage with cranberry chutney....absolutely fabulous. The service was also topnotch. A friendly visit from Chef Dano during your meal makes the entire experience worth (many) repeat visits.
Our waiter told us that there were 5 restaurants/cafes in that same stretch that were all delicious...I might not get them all correct, but here's the list.....the Stonecat; the Red Newt Cafe (it was closed the day we were there); Suzanne; Dano's .....and well shoot, I knew I wouldn't remember them all....but you get my drift. If you're on the east side of Lake Seneca after a day of wining, stop at Dano's - we highly recommend it.
