I have to say first that my wife is a case club member so we go to Lamoreaux more than just a few times a year. By the by, the case club membership is one of the best deals in the Finger Lakes and you will have no problem finding fine wine to acquire from Lamoreaux Landing to make up your yearly case. The people who work there at the tasting bar are very knowledgeable and very hospitable and I understand that things are just going to get better according to plans. The plans involve a nice tasting deck so you can purchase and enjoy a bottle of wine outside taking advantage of the winery fantastic views and a bistro where food can be purchased. That would make everything complete. But the wine is what I'm here to talk about. When you go, you have to do a tasting of the Riesling variations and have them show you the map on where the various vineyards are located. They are so close together, yet the Round Rock vineyard is completely different from the Yellow Dog which is completely different from the Red Oak. All are very good by the way. Some excellent and unique Chardonnays too and try the Library 2007 Merlot which is excellent. Some would say $35 is expensive but this is one that is worth it for me.
The two blends of red, 76 West and white, 42 North should be tried too.
This is a must stop for the serious wine drinker and if plans go through for the outdoor deck and bistro, it will be even better and grow into an entire afternoon stop:) Keep up the fine work!
