My boyfriend and I first stayed at Mill Creek Cabins in September 2011 after Hurricane Irene disrupted our Outer Banks vacation plans. We had a week off, but where to go last minute, and somewhere that would allow dogs? We had never been to the Finger Lakes and chose it simply because we could drive there. Fortunately, we were able to squeeze in four days at Mill Creek cabins. We couldn't have been more surprised and happy with those fours days. We both agreed that this is the first vacation we'd like to repeat.
In April 2012 we got married and chose Mill Creek Cabins for our honeymoon. We bought lots of wine, we hiked, we rode our bikes (be prepared for hills), we ate at Dano's and Stonecat Cafe, we slept 9-10 hours every night, we saw some spectacular scenery, and we got to enjoy it with our dog.
The property is lovely, cared-for, and well-situated near the Seneca Wine trail and its best restaurants, as well as Cayuga Lake, the Finger Lakes National Forest, and Taughannack and Watkins Glen State Parks. The cabins are cozy and appointed with pretty much anything you'll need (even containers to pack snacks). We ate so well every morning - those breakfasts are amazing. We love being able to dine out (and dine out well) well or stay at home and grill our own food. We also loved porch sitting and having a private fire in the evenings - really, relaxation at its best.
Most importantly, Brenda and Mike are really nice, friendly people.
The dog was disappointed to learn that we didn't actually move there. I guess that means we'll have to go back.
