Great team, great views and a peaceful time. The kitchen team is fantastic. A wonderful and peaceful respite from the city and we will for sure be back fro some nice walks on the grounds and learning to fly fish in the beautiful river right on the property.

We went to spend a day or two with friends and had a wonderful time. The chef, yes chef! was first class, and our morning breakfast was made to order. My friend Tom and I spent our time trout fishing and our wives spent time going to the local towns antique shopping.

The inn is over 100 years old and was recently renovated and is just lovely. As it is over 100 years old understand that not all the floors are level. No TV in the room, phone or cell service which lends to the tranquility. There are several TV's on the property so you may get a news fix or watch an event. Wi Fi is available but not 100% of the time. Breakfast is included and is always great and selections change. Located on the Beaverkill River so fishing is just steps away and we caught a lot of fish, Rainbow and Brown trout with the largest being 20". The inn has trails, 2 pool tables, 2 ping pong tables, an indoor basketball court, shuffle board game and much more to keep guests entertained in inclement weather or keep the kids occupied. If that isn't enough play lawn croquet, enjoy the heated indoor pool, exercise on the treadmills then enjoy a self serve ice cream or a cocktail at the bar with evening appetizers before dinner. Evening meals are offered and they are exceptional albeit a little expensive but include the appetizers, soup, salad, bread, choice of two entrees served with a very nice accompanying side, and dessert! We were very pleased with all of our meals, service and staff. The staff are all enjoyable, knowledgeable and accommodating to ones needs. Highly recommended for couples who enjoy the outdoors and with so many options on site one really doesn't need to leave. There is a washer and dryer available along with a mini fridge downstairs for guests to use and soap is free. If I had known this in advance, I wouldn't have packed as many clothes or shipped a small ice chest with our fishing gear. Families with children would enjoy the inn as well with many other games, toys and board games to keep the kids busy. Relax, reconnect, and unplug.

BVI is a beautiful, serene Inn. If your looking for a place to leave the world behind, this is it. The rooms have no telephone or tvs so relaxation abounds. During my stay I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The two women that work the front desk (Lisa & Yvonne) were wonderful. They helped my husband obtain his fishing license so he could try his hand in the famous Beaverkill river. We were able to eat a delicious dinner outside on the deck at sunset while the deer grazed in the field at the end of the yard. The Chef (Adam) is definately talented. The facilities include an indoor pool, a self serve ice cream parlor, tennis courts and hiking trails.) However wonderful BVI is, there is a downside--THE MEMBERS! They treat the guests as outsiders and the staff like their personal assistants! They seem to take pleasure in making guests feel unwelcome. This is not a good business pratice especially since the rates are so expensive. They should be grateful that people are willing to pay the price they ask. If they feel that we are intruding they should make the Inn their exclusive club. Another downside is that the members children have free reign of the Inn & grounds. Guests are unable to use the pool or the tennis courts while the childrens camp is in effect. With that being said, I would recommend staying at BVI. But during the "off season"!

Sometimes the Inn does seem really busy with guests and members, however, they are all happy people who are having a good time! We hope that you will come back during the week, you would have us all to yourselves.

We spent the weekend here when visiting my oldest son at camp. It was well suited for us as it has great food and the athletic facilities were superb. My youngest child was quite happy swimming in the indoor pool, helping himself to ice cream and playing in the gym. The staff is very accomodating without being intrusive. The grounds are lovely as well. On the downside there is no cell service, no phones in the rooms and spotty wifi. The rooms are very small and were a bit cramped. The public areas were quite comfortable and there were very few people there so it felt quite private.

BVI is definitely a place I would recommend to others. The grounds are spectacular, the staff is wonderful and kind and the setting allows you to escape the worries of the city. Unfortunately, most of the members who now own the place obviously do not want guest there or to use their facilities. It was made clear that they own the club house and guest could use it when they were not. It was uncomfortable to watch how the members treated the staff. I would recommend going mid week or not during the summer so you can avoid the members. The food was good and worth paying extra to have all the meals there. You can even get your lunch to go so you can enjoy it on a beautiful hike or just sitting by the river. I hope the members decide soon if they want to be hosts or masters so this cute hideaway can keep its charm. And yes, the fly fishing is incredible!

As an avid fly fisherman and nature lover, this surprisingly well-appointed gem's effortless comfort was matched only by the staff's warm-hearted service and attentiveness. I have to say that my expectations were modest coming from the city and having grown up in excellent flyfishing country in central Pennsylvania. But I was blown away. Not only was the fishing superb, the facilities were super family friendly with an indoor pool, tennis courts, and lovely trail. The food was a really pleasant surprise. Very fresh and delicious for every meal! The girls in the kitchen were so nice! The only thing that could detract from the experience is overcrowding I suppose. We went on a very quiet weekend with my 3 year old son.

We felt right at home from the second we got there. We will definitely be back!
