2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2012

We have been dining at outbacks since 1991 while in N.C. The quality of meals has been gradually going down for some time. Our LAST visit was April 25, 2012. We had a short wait after which our server informed us he could bring bread but they had no clean bread plates. A very bland salad (we asked for the house dressing) was served a short time later but no hint of dressing. Our dinners were served promptly but neither steak was cooked anywhere near what the menu discribed or what the server confirmed when we selected. My wifes steak was close, but more RARE than the menu indicated, and mine was also RARE (bright red). I know what a hassel it is to return food to be cooked, one person watches the other eat then that person gets to watch the 'recooked' person eat, so I tried to eat the meal and did manage to consume about 1/2 of it. The repeated request to start our deserts began when we were both partially done, and after the 3rd interuption we agreed to let the server start the preperation so we could continue our conversation. We never did get our bread plates, the meat wasn't cooked to order and when the server saw the uneaten portion he never asked if there was a problem and simply removed the plates. The potato was good, the desert was good but the salad, steak and service were terrible. I also hate it when the server refer to my wife and I as "YOU GUYS".

“Where did the chocolate tower go??”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2009

we ate at the Outback steakhouse hidden behind a bunch of other resturants on route 31 in clay.
we arrived at 5:30 on a wed. evening. a few minute wait and we were seated(forgot to mention we did a call ahead seating)
were seated right off the bar area. a young man was our waiter. we ordered -the dh had the 9oz sirloin with the lobster and mushroom topping-with mashed and salad.
I ordered the 6oz sirloin with the chopped salad(with no nuts) and mashed. salads came-very good! good bread and when we asked for more -he brought us more.
we had ordered some aussie beers to go with our meal - they were very good as well- i had a fosters draft and the dh had the tooheys(He likes that one!)
we enjoyed our steaks and potatoes - ate every bite and then had to try this new dessert because they didn't have our favorite chocolate tower cake any more=(
so the nutterbutter penut butter pie came- thank god we were sharing-as it was a HUGE! it was delish-and very rich- WOW! it was soooo gooood!
our bill came to $44.33 plus tip! we very much enjoyed our meal and will be back for sure!
