“October 2013”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

My husband and I pulled in with a 26ft motor home pulling a 14 ft trailer w/ our bikes enclosed. We were directed to park in the grass along the drive in a site that concerned us when the rain started to come down. Thank goodness it did not rain much. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were given a complementary bundle of firewood and later bought another bundle. The pool is nice size. The apples were falling off the trees. We were told we could pick what we like. Very tasty. This was our first trip to the finger lakes area. Wanted to ride and see the fall colors and the waterfalls through out the area. They have many activities for kids and were setting up a haunted house while we were there. I wanted to go but I'm not a kid so husband was not hip on it. A kid at heart. It is located on top of an old ski slope. It is out in the open. If you are looking for wilderness and privacy, this is not the place for you. Have not been there in the summer. Imagine it can get cramped with only 2 showers for the women to use. May return to check it out in the summer for a concert. Enjoyed my stay.

This was our first experience at Frost Ridge and we loved it. The gentleman I spoke with to make reservations was extremely helpful and patient with me. When the weekend of the Blackberry Smoke concert finally came, the check in went smoothly and an employee showed us where our campsite was located. It was a grassy, level site that was perfect to view the concert. The seasonal campers were very nice. The showers were pretty good. We would recommend Frost Ridge and can't wait to go back.

We got there and they did not have campsites to accommodate the size of our 5th wheels. Found space for us but our friends had no hook ups. We got charged for a more expensive site because we could not fit on the site we were supposed to be in. When we were ready to leave our friends that were just put in a spot on grass were stuck in the mud. We looked for anyone at the campground and all the workers were no where to be found. We had 4 kids. 3 dogs between all of us. And it was cold and raining. Took us over 2 and a half hours to get out. Another person that was also stuck in the mud at the campground told us that the workers always leave on days like that so they don't have to help campers that are stuck. They had a big tractor and they don't want to damage their stuff.

Will not ever go back!!!!!

We regret that this guest was not happy with their stay. In fairness, the sites reserved are very large (more than 50' in length) and have a gravel pad to prevent such problems. This guest preferred to park off of the assigned site pad so the RV's would be closer to one another.

Lots of seasonal units on site, lots of children playing all over. Nice setting, but sort-of unkempt central area near office. Store probably hasnt looked like photos in a while... Expensive!! Unless you are attending a concert weekend.

My review of Frost Ridge needs to start with a big thank you to the owner and staff for allowing our two parties to upgrade to cabins mid week, due to an unfortunate string of nasty thunderstorm filled nights. We were attempting to spend the week in 2 tents but the weather was not cooperating. This campground seems to be on the way up, lots of activities on the weekends and really quite during the week. Only one bathhouse which got to be a long walk in the middle of the night but it was clean and well functioning. There were also outhouses that were clean as well but still outhouses. The staff was the best they went out of their way to make our stay nice. Not as much shade as i would have liked and the pool was on the small side. Overall this was a nice place to stay.

If you are tent camping, don't waste your time here. The camping sites are out in the open in a big field like area. No shade and no privacy. Hiking trails? Good luck. I searched for a long time but was not able to find the one trail they claimed to have (which was at the base of a very steep hill). Looks like most of the people here are permanent residents in trailers with wooden decks. Pool is fine and the playground is ok (need to bring your own bball and I see no tether ball). Miniature golf...under construction.

We are sorry this guest was not happy with their experience. We do have shaded tenting and RV sites, however they are farther from the main building. We have had many trees lost due to weather, etc. and have replanted so the referenced field is filling in nicely. The hiking trail is primitive and some people love that feature. Others prefer something less demanding and we can understand that. The tether ball and miniature golf were being rebuilt at that time.

Had the pleasure of staying at Frost Ridge this past weekend. I have two sisters who have permanent sites there. Attended the Aaron Tippen concert. Had a blast. THis is a family oriented campground and they do a great job. There was something for everyone to do. I even won the 50/50 raffle, so I reinvested my money and reserved two more weekends to come up this summer. Maybe someday I will have a permanent site there too. THe guys who own this campground are making amazing changes and all for the good. The concerts are phenomenal, and the pool is beautiful, I cant remember the last time I laughed or played so hard. HAD A BLAST!!

Room Tip: book early, they fill up fast.
