“Crispy Basil not just Pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

We ordered lunch from Crispy Basil - for delivery it was a hour wait - it was a snow storm today!! We ordered the Marghareta pizza - wings and subs.
All were really good and since we did not have to go out in the snow even better!! Have many pizzas to pick from as well as salads and subs.

“Plenty of choices... Quick, easy and inexpensive meal for my family.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

While there are many pizza options in the capital district, not many can offer crispy pizzas reminiscent of Naples, Italy. Delicious, and so many unique choices. Try one of their combinations or make you own. The eat-in area is a bit strange, but food is good and there are also takeout and delivery options.

“Good pizza, lousy atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

As advertised, they have over a dozen different varities of pizza on display for slices. I went with the plain cheese and the marghareta w/ fresh mozzerella and basil. After a few minutes of them heating up the slices, the cashier tried to ring me up without offering if I wanted a drink. I asked if there was a slice/beverage deal and he said only at lunch time, so I grabbed a drink from the cooler on the other side of the restaurant and paid over 6 dollars for the trio.
The dining room is very strange. The room is divided by a large butcher block table with stools on either side apparently for large groups. The rest of the dining room has small tables/chairs surrounded by very thick walls and narrow windows w/ blinds. It's not a warm / inviting environment at all. The staff of this newly opened restaurant doesn't seem to care about politeness or customer service either. While leaving the dining room (the only person in there I might add) none of the 4 staff behind the counter offered a "thank you" , "thanks" or "how was your meal", they were all preoccupied with whatever employees of an empty restaurant occupy themselves with. Outside, two other employees seemed to be constructing something in the back of the building, again, no greeting or thank you or anything.
If you attempt to visit, use caution making a left into or out of the parking lot, they are at one of the most treacherous intersections (Rte 9 & Rte 155) in Colonie. If its anytime between 4 and 6 on a Friday... Good Luck!!
Overall, decent pizza, but don't expect anything in the way of atmosphere or warm friendly greetings from the preoccupied employees. Unfortunately, I give them another year or so before they're closed.
