“Nice stay for a week.”
Reviewed August 8, 2011

Very good location. Quiet at night, close to the beautiful beach-50m. Short walk to the small town. Room was rather small. Small TV, no bide in bathroom. Room was very clean, with balcony. We have a "non see view", with quite loud central A/C station somwhere outside. Not a big deal. Master bed big&comphy, additional one not so good. Food. Planty&diverse, but do not expect high-end cusine for dinner; out of bag "smash potatoes" and beef soup. Fish soup, salads, beef in souce, pasta quite good. One free drink at dinner should be included in price. Breakfast? I was on high-cholesterol diet :), but there was planty to choose from; eggs, hot-dogs, diff. kinds of salami, pastry, vegetables, panckakes, dairy products, cereal, ... you name it.
Nice one week stay.

A large, family orientated, package holiday hotel, built in three blocks.   Buffet breakfast in refectory style dining room was perfectly adequate. The hotel is part of a group situated on a steep, wooded  and pine-scented slope to a narrow pebble beach.  A  paved walkway runs the length of this stretch of coastline and links the hotels and guesthouses to the small fishing port of Brela. There are a scattering of restaurants and quiet bars here - drinks served to you sat on deck-chairs on the beach. Our room was spacious, clean, with  a great shower (no bath) and a decent balcony over-looking the sea through the trees. Although the hotel is fairly standard, the place itself is worthy of a holiday.

PROS: location, cleanliness, simplicity, good range at breakfast
CONS: very uncomfortable beds, weak A/C units in rooms, no FREE wi-fi, poor selection for vegetarian diets at dinner
Requested and paid a room with sea view but got instead rather disappointingly one with a view of trees in a busy part of the hotel.

If you need a spacious, clean room with a big balcony and great view of the sea, good breakfast, and all the facilities - Marina is perfect for you. Maybe too much expensive, but it was the summer season, so understandable.

This was our first holiday together and we chose Brela as an alternative to the typical tourist destinations such as Spain and Greece.

We found the Bluesun Hotel Marina to be clean, spacious and welcoming. We had a corner room and it was certainly bigger than we had anticipated, and it had the biggest bed known to humanity! The only downside to the room was the air conditioning which was poor and never got the room properly cold.

The hotel is situated 50m from the beach so you could pretty much roll out of bed and into the sea. I've never seen such clear blue sea in Europe and it was lovely to swim in. We would recommend buying the inexpensive sea shoes that they sell along the beach as the pebble and gravel beach can really hurt your feet after a few hours.

The food was of good quality and there was certainly something there to meet a wide variety of tastes. We ate in every night then went to the neighbouring Hotel Soline for drinks as they had a bigger bar. There is very little to do in Brela in the evenings as it is a very quiet resort, but we enjoyed the peace and the romance of it.

We did the excursions to Dubrovnik and Omis, both of which we would highly recommend both for value for money and overall experience.

When booking this holiday we wanted a relaxing getaway that wasn’t the traditional tourist destination. We wanted something different and we absolutely loved it. We have nothing but praise and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a peaceful holiday in the sun with some culture and history thrown in to.

Brela is Ok, but the serice in the service in the hotel is not good. We go a room who smelled like a toilet, and compained every day to the reception. Nothing happend - nobody tried to fix it, and w e got no discount for that room. Very unpersonal hotel with a restaurant who looked more like a school cafeteria.
But nice beach and good food in the restaurants in the area.

We enjoyed really spacious great rooms. There is really wide double bed plus sofa goes as a complementary sleeping place. So three people can be easily accommodated in one DBL room. Bathroom is a good size and clean. It has shower.
So room is comfortable enough inside. Passageways are a bit shabby, but not too much.I wouldn't call hotel cosy inside.
The weakest spot of Hotel is restaurant. Actually it is more canteen than restaurant. Food is so so. But the smell in canteen really kills. If you enter it any time the day you can always smell the heavy odor of previously cooked meal. Brrrrrr ! .....Tables are standing too close together, you are always risking to disturb someone sitting nearby. During the dinner time it is overcrowded, noisy, and the food is poor. Restaurant staff is lacking in standards of service and hosting. So plan to eat out of Hotel, there are a lot of places, like restaurant near the harbor, etc... And beach near Hotel is a bit too narrow , but Hotel is well situated , so we were taking a short walk along the sealine and were landing on the beach closer to Punta rata. Despite Marina canteen we had a good rest. Go to the Marina if you don't mind that hotel is just somewhere to sleep and it is close to the beach. . Next time I'd go to Maestral.
