This hotel is located on Mirror lake and the view from the hotel is amazing. Beds were very comfortable and rooms quite large. The staff was nice and helpful, pricewise the hotel was quite expensive, breakfast was good.

Room Tip: ask for room with a view and balcony

Beautifully appointed room with beautiful view of Mirror Lake and mountains. Received complimentary bottle of champagne in room. Dinner in "The View" was delicious. We were given a glass of champagne and dessert with candle and "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate on our plate. They took a picture and gave it to us.
Buffet breakfast had extensive choices. All that we tried were wonderful.
Hoteis in walking distance to the shops in town and close to the high peaks for great hiking.

Mirror Lake is an absolutely lovely and welcoming inn where you will not be disappointed. The Inn at located at the quieter end of Mirror Lake (away from the shopping area) which makes for a very peaceful stay (shops are short block and half walk from the Inn). We chose the Fall Folliage Package ($225/night) which included accommodations, breakfast and a $30 spa credit. We stayed in the Cottage building overlooking the pool, with outstanding views of the lake and mountains! Even at the base level, this room as it was extremely comfortable and well appointed The Inn was quiet and peaceful with a very friendly and courteous staff. There are many wonderful little nooks and places to sit and relax including next to the two sided fireplace. A delicious, hearty breakfast was included each morning with many menu offerings to chose from. The spa credit was put to use with a heavenly Foot Reflexology massage - perfect after a busy day of ice skating and hiking! The spa was one of the nicest I've visited and offers a great selection of treatments - make sure to arrive early to enjoy the private whirlpool and other amenities! I highly recommend Mirror Lake Inn - We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Cottage Building offers lovely views of the lake and mountains, overlooking the pool area. The 1s...

We (5 couples, all around 50 years old) stayed for several nights in mid September. One couple had a room with a king bed and small living area (couch and coffee table) and small balcony overlooking the lake, the others had rooms with 2 queen beds (no couch) and small balcony ( 2 chairs and table) overlooking the outdoor swimming pool and the lake. My room was 337. The views were wonderful, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms had a standard tub with shower and single sink. The bathroom had a supply of shampoo, soaps, lotion etc that you would normally find at an upscale hotel. There was a hairdryer attached to the wall and a large mirror. Lighting was a bit dim for a bathroom but nothing terrible. There was a small fridge which we never opened, didn't need it and also a large armoire which housed the tv and another large dresser for clothes. Plenty of space for the 2 of us.
Everything about this place is top notch. The employees are very friendly, constantly making sure you are happy.
We ate all of our breakfasts in the hotel and they were fabulous. Best pancakes I've ever had. others had eggs benedict with lobster, Belgian waffles, eggs. One morning it was a buffet with omelettes made to order and other delicious choices. Fresh squeezed orange juice, pineapple juice- yummy!
We ate dinner there 2 nights and it was excellent. Everyone agreed that everything from the appetizers to dessert was terrific, no complaints. The wine list was extensive, be prepared to pay a premium. I had a lobster and asparagus salad and then scallops for my entree. Wonderful.
After dinner we headed over to "The Cottage" for late night drinks. It's just across the road and open late. The bartender was friendly and suggested trying a special cocktail for our "Birthday girl" friend who was turning 50 the next day. We ended up staying until closing.
I can't emphasize enough how wonderful the staff was. Everyone from the front desk, to the waitress to the woman who did my manicure was friendly and professional and made you feel like you were an old family friend. The Inn has many nooks and crannies to explore. There is a wonderful fireplace in the main lobby and another room behind it where you can stretch out on a leather coach and read a book or play a game of checkers. Very cozy and comfy feel to the entire place. I wish we had more time to just sit and enjoy more of these spaces but Lake Placid has so much to see/do we were very busy.
We did make use of the indoor pool and hot tub (which is huge). The only negative about that space is that we found the lounge chairs quite uncomfortable for extended lounging. All of us had wanted to sit by the indoor pool and nap a bit but found the chairs too uncomfortable. Not a big deal, just an observation. The outdoor pool looked lovely, lots of lounge chairs, and nicely landscaped with some shade. We didn't go in as it was too chilly but again, if I had more time i would have sat out there in the sun and just read a book. It overlooks the lake as well.
Next time I come back I want to spend more time just relaxing by the real fire with a good book or just sitting in one of the comfy overstuffed chairs and gazing endlessly out at the beautiful lake.
Upon check out the front desk gave us a small bag of chocolate chip cookies "for the trip home". What a pleasant and welcome surprise. Attention to detail is what wins this Inn my highest praises!

We just spent 4 days here for our twelfth anniversary. We chose the Rise and Shine package and felt it was worth it. We have stayed at many places and ate at many in Lake Placid over the years and this was by far the best. The room was very romantic and we were given a bottle of champagne shortly after arrival. Very nice touch! Of course the view from our room was fantastic. We were on the top floor of the Mountainview. Just loved sitting on the balcony overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains.

We have stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn two times this past summer. It is the perfect get away for the entire family. With boys ages 5, 3, & 1 this hotel provided the perfect accommodations and activities to keep us busy morning until night. The mornings were spent waking up to the fire in the cozy moose rooms, fishing and swimming in the lake while the evenings in the indoor pool. We enjoyed every meal in the Inn and the Smores on the beach was our favorite evening activity.
I have to say the staff is exceptional. As a mom with three kids, I never walked through a door without someone holding it or offering to help. Every employee had a smile and always made us feel like we were at home.
Finally, if you don't sleep well in this hotel I would be surprised. I will be ordering those pillows for my own bed.
My middle son cried when we left last weekend and my oldest son informed me when asked about his summer in school he talked about the mirror lake inn at school. Thanks for two wonderful weekends MLI and we will definitely see you next summer.
