“The "New" Brown Dog, lovely dining on the lake.”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

As of January, the Brown Dog moved to a new location, but still on Main St. So much better than the old, the size of the facility is bigger, the food is great, and the views are super. Hard to beet combination. The wine list, while not extensive, is a good solid menu of drinkable wines.
We have visited it a couple of times all ready and will probably dine there again. The staff are great and accommodating. Our waiter, Jimmy, did a great job and is one of a group of well trained, attentive, young men and women. All in, we had a lovely time and will probably return a number of times this summer. Good place, give it a go.

“Decent, but not worth a special trip”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Seems like they try hard, but the food was pretty ordinary. Didn't particularly seem like a wine bar, but I'm probably unrealistically comparing them to wine bars in NYC.

“Scenic View/nice wine selection”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Make reservations for a window seat, great view of the lake. I had the mussels and they were very good. I also had the lavendar infused creme brulee--also well done. The wine selection was very good.

“Best meal in town ...and not rushed out the door”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

We had a lovely lunch overlooking Mirror Lake (...best table in the corner.) The food and service were excellent, and you felt you were geniunely wlecomed by the owners and staff, and that they were happy to have you relax and visit for a bit ...not being rushed out the door to serve new blood... like in some other resort towns.
