First of all, the Alegria was wonderful. Our waitress was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. Our appetizers and dinners were delicious. Sadly, Alegria is located on the lower level of the average Summit Hotel. We parked in the hotel lot and went in through the lobby. Access to Alegria from the lobby is down a rather dingy stairway. Otherwise, you need to walk down along the street to the lower level, which would have been tough with all the winter snow. Despite the poor access, this is a worthwhile stop for a great meal. One other comment. The TA photo shows 3 crab cakes. I have to say that the crab cakes were packed with mostly crab meat and were very good, be we only received 2 crab cakes.

Thank for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed your food. You actually can get 3 crab cakes, often if 3 people are sharing the dish they will get crab cakes for three. Plus we liked the pictures. You are right though, we should change the picture. It is just that so many people enjoy the crab cakes, and when one persons orders the three crab cakes for themselves they never finish them.

We appreciate the limitations of our location, but we love the view and the patio, and think the food is worth it.

Thank you again.

Started off with the crab cakes which were exactly that crab cakes they were almost all crab and no filler which is how its supposed to be to the person who wrote that they were bland apparently didn't touch the sauce that was exquisite with fresh basil and citrus any more seasoning would have overpowered the cake and taken away from it.

My wife had the Scallops which were on point with delicious onions and crispy brussell sprouts.

Had the duck breast which was cooked to perfect medium rare would have liked a little crispy skin but no worries still delicious floating in amazing sauce. The sausage risotto was superb but there was a bit too much of it as it was a bit heavy. Veggies were good presentation was a little off but just on the veggies everything else was presented beautifully from start to finish.

For dessert the creme brulee was incredibly delicious. Who would of thought? Incased in philo dough with an insane ber blanc and strawberries! Wow!

All in all $100 tab between with two glasses of wine.

Well worth it!

A group of four of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Alegria Garden Cafe over Veterans Day weekend. We decided to try as many dishes as possible in order to sample the wide variety of menu items. The appetizer mac and cheese was "to die for" as well as the tomato appetizer. Our most favorite appetizer was the crab cakes. Since we come from New England we have high standards and these tops the charts. They were loaded with crab and were really yummy. We also loved the salads as they were very fresh and filling and also enjoyed the duck for a main dish. To end the night we got "two" creme brulee as one was devoured in about five minutes.. I would recommend a visit to the Alegria Garden Cafe for a great meal with very nice service.

Great dinner of chicken piri piri (me) and duck (my wife). With bottle of wine, no appetizers, and one dessert (creme brulee), bill totaled about $105. Good service and very convenient to our hotel, High Peaks Resort. I would go back and would recommend to friends.

We're locals, and this was our first time trying Alegria Garden Cafe for dinner.. Unique menu, with many tasty choices. The Chick Pea appetizer and cayenne onion rings were both amazing, as was the grilled Romaine Salad and delcious Duck. Portions were huge on the apetizers, so share with two or more people.. Great service, and warm atmosphere. Ranks up there with some of the better restaurants in Lake Placid and there are about four really good choices plus many more..
