Came here when travelling through town with the family. The restaurant is lovely and modern inside and a good spot for families. The food was great... When it finally arrived. It took more than 35 minutes for a salad and a burger. And, the hunger was not as described on the menu; they forgot the guacamole. But, the burger was good and perfectly cooked. The waitress was oblivious to the length of time our food order took and didn't even come over to let us know how long it might take or the reason for the delay. The brought the kids meals 15 minutes before the adult meals! Again, the food was good, but the waitress and wait for the food was not good. Of they improve the service, this would be a great restaurant. I'm hoping it's just a one time bad experience with one particular waitress.

Our first visit - primarily to partake of their reasonably priced prime rib dinner. We were not really expecting the gourmet atmosphere, dinner guitarist, and beautiful ambiance, which definitely added to the dining experience. The server was extremely knowledgeable as to how the foods are prepared and readily allowed for modifications to meet dietary preferences- a big plus for us. The prime rib was delicious and dishes were served with wonderful presentation. The dinner salad and bread was great but the artichoke appetizer was soo yummy. Another big plus! Although we didn't have children with us, we were glad to see that
they offer a children's menu with all the favorite entrees- a plus for the grandchildren. There was a large party of 18 (adults and children) who were enjoying a festive family gathering. However, the design allows for family- as well as quiet dining. Needless to say, this restaurant far exceeded our expectations.
We will definitely dine here again as a couple, with friends and with family.
It's great that Lake Placid has a first class, pleasant and reasonable priced restaurant.
Gotta love the use of fresh local produce! Our compliments to the Chef McDermott!

They had live entertainment on a Monday night, our party of six was looking for something not too fancy, this is a great choice. The bread they first bring out is amazing, gone very quickly! Varied menu, hazelnut chicken and risotto was excellent, the Hibernator burger looked great. Pretty standard wine list but fairly priced. Our server was great, we thought he would never get six glasses out of a bottle after watching his first pour but he was spot on with his portions! This was an old Wendy's according to the history on the menu and a great transformation. Easy to get to and plenty of parking.

A big thanks to all the staff. We came with an unusual request and they accommodate us, making it possible for everyone in the family to have a great meal. traveling with special needs kid is sometime of a challenge and places like this one make us feel at home. Like the food the forest burger was great, the sea salt caramel gelato.

We where surprised at the dinner menu from the outside decor. The outside gives you the roadhouse feel as does the signage advertising live music. Our server Nick was very pleasant and knew the Menu well. The food was slow coming but the pre dinner bread made up for the wait. This is not a place that serves fast food style of a menu the food comes with a excellent presentation. The evenings dinner entertainment was at the correct volume and suitable for the dinner hour.
